  1. I have a pair of Linksys Skype phones. I used these while deployed to a foreign location and it was a great way to keep in touch. The phones connect to your wireless network and use the free Skype voice service. They are literally two small handsets. Fully charged and ready to demo - I just called myself to test them since they've been in a box for a couple of years now. Great if you travel or if you have kids off in college and you'd like a less expensive way to keep in touch. Photo attached Make me reasonable offer and I'll give you a reasonable YES!
  2. If you give Mike at AC a call, you should be able to catch him via phone. I've always had better luck that way.
  3. A couple to share.
  4. Sean, What kind of lights do you have? I have a pair of PIAA lights that I'm not using so you are welcome to use the covers if they will fit. I've also got a set of Hella 1000's and you are welcome to those covers as well. I'm willing to bet someone in the club has covers that you can borrow for your safety inspection. Craig
  5. Thanks to everyone that came out to the picnic today! The rain held off until the very end and it looked like everyone had a good time. I know Lona and I certainly did!
  6. How do you cook a frisbee? Don't worry Alan, I'll save a hamburger for you!
  7. Hey everyone, I just posted a couple of pictures of the grocery shopping trip on the DCMM FB Page. We can't wait to see everyone so we can toss down a few burgers and dogs and see everyone again! Thanks for updating your RSVP's, it really helps when it comes time to get the right amount of picnic stuff.

  10. Sean, My understanding is that covered lights aren't figured in. When I go in for my inspection, I just pop the covers on the lights and there's never been a question about it.
  11. Yep, I just tagged a new Spice Orange MCS in my parking garage yesterday. Left them a note to tell them that our annual picnic is this weekend and they should come hang out! I just tuck the cards into the drivers side door, between the glass and the rubber weather strip so they can't miss them.
  12. I'll bring my grilling tools and the appropriate clothing for a "Grill Sargent".
  13. And I was looking forward to a desert frenzy...
  14. We are in Annandale so we could always meet up at the Wegmans in Sterling. It's not too far away from the road. Time? I'll have to do some calculating on that. I just called BTI about reservations and here's the deal. They only have the 9 a.m. spot open for the recreational kayaking so that may turn some folks off as it's kind of early to get up and going. If I make reservations, I have to pay for everyone in full, up front and it's non-refundable. I don't mind doing that but I just don't want to have to eat the money if someone decides to roll over and hit the snooze alarm until noon. If anyone/everyone who is interested can verify their RSVP by Thursday (by 7 p.m.), I'll call and make the reservation on Friday. Hopefully, it won't be sold out.

    Tech Day

  17. Hey everyone! Take a look at the information for the picnic and get your RSVP's in. This will be lots of fun and Laura (Green Cactus) is still planning a meetup and run to get everyone there. By the time you arrive, the grill will be hot and the drinks will be cold so let's go have fun!
  18. Everyone is right! Basically, if you know how to swim (you'll be wearing a PFD as well) and you can sit upright and move a paddle (while keeping the front of the kayak pointed where you want to go), you can do this. The only "white water" on this trip is the water gurgling over the rocks, it's very laid back and relaxing. Come one everyone, it's gonna be a scorcher this week so let's go hit the river and cool off for a while!
  19. Let's go everyone, let's get out there for the "ALI RALLY"! It's a good time, just waiting for you to show up!
  20. Ali actually hates to see anything go unnamed so if you have any electrical appliances, footwear or gardening tools that you haven't named yet, email her pictures and a short description and she'll get you a list of names pretty quick.
  21. When you do it, just make sure to follow one of the early steps very closely. Put a towel or something on the ground, under the mirror. The first time I popped the mirror cap off, it jumped right off and would have gotten damaged if not for the towel. Otherwise, it's a 15 minute job (if you stop to read the directions twice, mop the sweat from your brow and have a drink of water between each side).
  22. Replace it and I bet the problem will go away. Oh, scrape the gum off the bottom of your foot.
  23. Just as an aside, Roy and Brenda have a special deal going if you are interested. Because I can't remember the specifics (getting older sucks doesn't it Ali), I won't quote them here but basically, for a very reasonable fixed price, you get x hours of massage time. I'm pretty sure it's 5 hours for about $240. From personal experience, I can tell you that Roy does great work!
  24. Welcome! Come out to an event (the meet and greet this Saturday is a good excuse) and see what others have done and you'll find all kinds of good (or otherwise) ideas for things to do to "youify" your MINI.
  25. Noon works fine. The route that Marty I tested two weeks ago was just under two hours down there and that was with a few "backtracking" experiments that we threw in just for fun. I'll probably be easy to spot as I'll still have the bike on the car, I've got a 90 minute ride on Saturday morning so I'll be coming straight over from that. No shower so I'll have to ride/navigate solo....
