  1. Thanks! I know that the "Mini vs MINI" thing happens at some shows but I don't recall it happening at BOG. Only at Carlise did I see "Free of BMW parts' stickers on Mini's. And that person was just funny and fine with 'new' MINI's in truth. I did win
  2. Oh ye, of little faith... Departed home at 9:30 to no rain and overcast. Arrived at BOG at a little before 10 and by 11 it was partly sunny. As the day went on it got more and more sunny until we had almost 90% blue sky for the afternoon. It tur
  3. Ha! I hope tomorrow it 'rains' as much as it did today!
  4. Yes the forecast stinks. I'm prepping my car a bit every evening after work this week. Sunday is the Britain on the Green Car show. But I'm not worried about it raining after this 'big detail' job. I look at this as the base work for the whole year. I'v
  5. Pressure washed the MINI yesterday... Hand washed today to get all possible goop off then clay bar'd. Then another wash to remove the film the clay bar lube leaves. Tomorrow (Tues) a few coats of Zaino... Wed maybe some more Zaino, then
  6. I'm going down Wed am as well, may try to hook up with you all..,
  7. I'll post here first... I have a lodge room at Fontana for arrival Wed the 28th and departure Sun the 2nd. Be aware that can be in the main building or the adjacent one. I had hoped Philipina might be able to come along but she's going to be working. Since my honey won't be there with me having a romantic weekend I no longer need the 2nd queen bed to be empty. If anyone is looking and would like to split room and $... The room is $99/night plus tax.
  8. Thanks for the update! :top:
  9. Hahahhaa. Let me be the first to coin a new phrase, new shirts need to be printed! Stroll The Dragon! Edit: If you STD then do watch out for BOTD, Bears on The Dragon...

  13. I knew you were. She wants me to go, but I won't make a week of it like I usually do. I'd miss her too much. Seems like we jacked this thread, sorry!
  14. Sounds like you need to quit! Just kidding. In fact my girlfriend just started a new job last week and has to work too. She was looking forward to seeing what this MOTD stuff is all about.
  15. I'll be leaving from Mt Vernon and coming 'round the beltway past 210 around 9:15. I'll check back here before leaving if you see this... I could jump off at 210 to meet up before going on...
  16. Welcome back! I'm a fan of Hawk Ceramics. No performance difference, but way less dust.
  17. I have a appropriate tool. The one from Harbor Freight. Some folks like to do them themselves for sake of not having to drop off car to wanting non oem pads. Anyone ever wants to borow, or use garage and air tools...
  18. Amen. I'm ready for a warm, sunny, Dragon!
  19. :stupid: Back at ya. Yes, but you seemed to imply a problem existed. Nevermind.
  20. "Our history?" Do I need to remove the DCMM cling from my window before heading down this year? :stupid:

  23. I didn't like the terms vs the price for any I was able to find on the MINI. The cost for the difference in coverage length (time and mileage) didn't seem worth it. And honestly I'm not much of a fan of most extended warranties for $ on products. On the other hand I had no idea it could be so negotiable. When I bought my Flex last summer the warr was 3/36,000 bumper to bumper and 5/60,000 on powertrain. They offered 5/70,000 bumper to bumper for like $2,000. I said no fast and they came down a bit. I said no, and I said both the time and mileage beyond the stock coverage are way too low, even at a lower price. Over half and hour and at least 6-7 offers and other people getting into the fun I eventually got 7 year/100,000 bumper to bumper for about $1100. That I felt was a deal and well worth it. Bottom line, turns out extended warraties are at least sometimes HIGHLY negotiable.
  24. With all this snow, I'd say have a sock burning on the vernal equinox instead. :top: (We sailors gather on the first day of spring, or the nearest weekend, at their marinas for a Sock Burning. Boat shoes are normally worn sans socks. But in winter the
