What a fun day! (so much for thinking it was a 1/2 day event!) .. had other plans for the holiday weekend that fell through -- on a lark checked DC Metro page to see if there were any MINI events and lucked out on this one! Great weather, to boot! It was great to meet new MINI enthusiasts .. for all those events we chatted about, check out the following "overnight" events (this is just the ones I know of / have attended that are coming to mind right now. I've tried to include approximate dates for the '26 / '27 ones.) Sorry for no links ... but I know if you can drive the twisties, you can Google-search MINIS Take the Lighthouses (MTTL) September 11 - 20, 2025 St Simon Island -> Lubec Maine MINIS Slay the Sleeping Dragon (MSSD)* October 3 - 5, 2025 Fontana Village NC *the annual MINIs on the Dragon is scheduled for April 29 - May 3, 2026 MINIs Take Vermont (MTVT) October 16-19, 2025 Base: Mt Snow Dover, VT (location rotates annually) (anyone interested in attending who might want to share lodging, please PM) Hampton Roads Fall Colours Run Hampton Roads Club MINI (HR MINI) Oct 24 - 26, 2025 Winchester VA and surrounds MINIs in the Ozarks (MITO) Oct 30 - Nov 2, 2025 Eurekea Springs, AR and surrounds As you can see, there's a fun MINI event every weekend in October! There's a reason it's called Motortober! Appalachian Mountain MINIS (AMM) Holiday weekend December 5-6, 2025 Balsam Mountain, NC Event details on website (not FB) link: AMM Planning ahead '26 / '27 January 2026: MINI Takes the States (MTTS) - waiting with bated breath for the announcement of when (usually July) and where the '26 rally will start and end. Helenblitz (tentative Feb 26-28, 2026 .. a great first of the year event after the winter miniduldrums) Helen GA (roads not unlike western NC based out of a german village) MINIs on the Dragon (MOTD) April 29 - May 3, 2026 Fontana Village NC MINIs on Top (MOT) Mt Washington NH check for dates - usually mid/late June MINI Takes the States (MTTS '26, barring a pandemic or some other crummy need to cancel) Dates usually in July (announcement of dates / plans usually end of January / beginning of February) Subscribe to MINI USA MINI USA Community MINI on the MACK (MOTM) Mackinaw / St Ignace, MI August 7, 2027 The Great Ice Cream Run from Staunton, MI -> Mackinaw (~Aug 1-8, 2027) Guiness World Book Record All you need to know (for now) here: MOTM Let's Make History 8.7.27

Apparently the trip next April is to Wales -- where one of hte hosts lives, so should be a great adventure. Alas, it is in Land Rovers, not MINIs as the fleet is currently being replaced by newer MINIs .. The 2026 Scotland trip is Sold Out .. but I expect they will add more UK adventures. Plus Switzerland is on the list for fall '26. Best thing to do is subscribe to the mailing list (Ultimate Driving Adventures) - there's no obligation and then you know what's coming up. If there was enough interest, I feel quite certain they would customize an adventure.

untilPlease join us for a Sunday run to Luray and back through Virginia’s rolling countryside. Our drive will begin at the Walmart in Haymarket where we will head west through the rolling countryside of Virginia. We will make a quick bio-break in Front Royal before heading to one of the finest twisty roads in the Shenandoah Valley. Nicknamed the Valley within a Valley, Fort Valley Road will wind us along Passage Creek before rising to Edith’s Gap Lookout where you will see a stunning view of the valley towards Luray. A quick 90 degree turn at the base of the mountain, over the South Fork of the Shenandoah River, and we will arrive in Luray, Virginia. Makes sense, I think its important especially with things like coders, to have an idea of what you are getting before you spend the money and plug something into your car. I would encourage you to come to some open events and talk to some of the club members. I have an F56 so my experience and options are going to be different than yours. Finding someone with a similar platform will help. The next club run is August 30, if you can join it looks like it will be a good turn out and probably some folks that can point you in the right direction.

Hi Corey, Scotty's post was referring to a run back in June, however, our next open run will be on Saturday August 30th. You can always find details about all of the DCMM events on the main page of the forum. Here is the direct link to the Maryland Creamery Run RSVP page with all of the details. As a Forum member you will have access to all of the open events, in order to join us on our paid member events you'll need to become a paid member of the club. If interested you can sign up here: Membership Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions~Lorri

I have a 2011 Cooper S (R57), when it comes to coding. I need too learn but, all the AI sites and Google help. I also want to see if its worth the money... I'm a hands-on person.

There are some good youtube videos on Bimmercode options, I would check those out for sure, I coded my JCW to turn the auto start/stop off as default. That way every time I start my car I don't have to flip the switch, you can also code your rear fog lights to act as brake lights on some models. It really depends on the model you have and how much "coding" you are comfortable doing.
-
1975-mini, i'm wondering what additional features the app can add to your mini?

SAVE the DATE. August 7, 2027. MOTM Here's what everyone needs to know. In 2027 we *will* break the record. Why so confident? Because we've come really close before (1380), we lost a few people for 2025 because they did not have a good experience in 2023 (sorry, it's the truth) but they have heard how great 2025 was. But the most persuading thing is, I have it on a very good authority that *when* (notice I did not say "if") we break it in 2027, we'll keep that record ... Historically it's been a standing joke that if we got to 1451, the Brits would put out an APB for "next Saturday" and break our newly minted record. But guess what? They can't and they won't. They won't be able to stage it. The place it was staged when they set the record (2009) is no longer an option, and the group that co-ordinated it, no longer exists. See the note below. So this needs to be an all out effort for '27. Let's DO THIS for the Sharpes / MINI of Grand Rapids / Van Andel Institute for all they have done for this effort over the years. Block your calendar for August 7 2027 now. Buy a new MINI so you have 2 -- or 3 -- or 4 and let your friends, family, neighbors or even a complete stranger borrow one or two of them. I'm going to get MOTM '27 - not attempt - but break the record stickers made. If you send me a business-size SASE I'll send you one, for free. Let's start promoting this NOW while the energy from this past event is still with us and let's make this happen. (PM for my address.) Share any part of this to any MINI club. It's going to take all of us. The participants from '13, '15, '17, '19, '23 (come back!) '25, and the multi-year MINIacs!! Rumour has it maybe even participants from the 2009 Brighton record setting event, how cool is that? You want to be part of making history. Even if you don’t, your MINI does! NOTE: The London to Brighton Mini Run in 2009 broke the world record for the longest convoy of Minis with a Guinness-verified total of 1450 cars. It was organised by the London & Surrey Mini Owners Club. The event was the brainchild of Mark Steward, who took ideas from the Vintage runs (from London to Brighton). It originally started at Battersea Park but as it grew it moved to Crystal Palace until 2022 when it moved to Cheam. The 2023 run was the last one. The introduction of the London ULEZ (a £12.50/day charge for those non-compliant vehicles) and the increasing challenge of organising the event for the LSMOC team was cited as the reason for them not organising an event in 2024.

Help! Need 2 Tire Rims for 2020 JCW Convertible
DRVHPY posted a topic in Maintenance & Modifications
Good afternoon all, I hit a pothole over this past weekend resulting in two bent rims on the passenger side of my mini cooper JCW 2020 Convertible. The auto shop has searched but the used ones they have located are about the same as the new ones. So, by any chance does anyone have 2 tire rims in decent shape that are under 365.00 each or do you know of a place I can reach out to that might have less expensive rims? Here is the photo of the kind of rims I need: Thank you so much for any help on this! Devra Gordon DevraSGordon@gmail.com Call or text: 202.743.2882 -
Have a great time everyone!

I was able to get wheels, tires, spacers, and stud kit done at Passport before we left on Sunday. It was a bit of shuffle with my wife in town and Moonraker as our only car…but we got it done. Left Sunday and stopped in Punxsutawney for some Groundhog pictures, then spent the night in Erie, and last night and today in Niagara Falls, Canada. We drove up to Lake Ontario today, so we have two Great Lakes down and three to go. We are spending another night in Canada to see Lake Huron before heading back into Michigan for MOTM. I tried to link to the website for MOTM but I think the registration is closed. Hope to see some DC Metro Mini’s there!
-
I hosted an "open" run this past Saturday and a) it's not on the list at the top of this post b) did not get socialized so unless someone happened to check the calendar it wouldn't have been seen and c) even after setting a start location conducive to DC Metro members (which was an early alarm & not particularly convenient for me) the attendees were from other MINI groups & not DC Metro.
-
Thanks to those who came out for this event. I wasn't good about taking pictures (got spoiled in Scotland last month with a dedicated photographer!) Unfortunately, I set the meetup spot in Ashburn to accommodate DC Metro members & of the MINI friends who joined in, none were from DC Metro. Any future events I host will be based out of Frederick for the convenience factor ...
