@Atomic Monkey memberships last till Dec 31, they get discounted throughout the year since there is less time that you are getting. There is a 31 day grace period till Jan 31 for renewals. @STXMINI did you miss the one I put up for the 31st? Unless it's some severe weather mine run no matter how few RSVPs lol
-
I'll have our Membership coordinator check in to that @SusieQ I tried one last SM post last evening but didn't see any responses, I'll make a post that it's cancelled. Thanks for setting it up @donemcclure. This weather is annoying!
-
@Atomic Monkey, just sent you a message. Can meet up, or lead the two of us. : ) Weather looks cold/rainy Saturday morning so maybe not the best day, but up for whatever. Since there were no RSVPs I marked it as CANX, but let me know.

@STXMINI, Why am I not a current member? I purchased my membership in June. I thought memberships lasted a year?

ALL: We've struggled the last few runs with participation, if you have feed back to share please let us know what we need to change so that we are better able to serve the club going forward. (Our thinking is that the runs may have been a bit further out, or maybe it's been this awful spring weather)! Thank you @PlaidSneakers @TheEnglishBeat @donemcclure for putting the runs together for us, we appreciate you volunteering!
-
@donemcclure Do you still plan to do the run on Saturday? Note: When I click the card for the HSB to to Wilderness Winery run, in the April newsletter it works for me. Because you are not a current Club member you won't be able to access the link. But if you'd like to go, just let Don know, unless he plans to cancel the run. The Barrel Oak Winery run was switched to Wilderness Winery back in mid march but I did forget to update it above, thanks for the catch!

Has the April 12th HSB been canceled? The above link to Barrel Oak Winery/Brewery is a dead link. The April newsletter listed a different HSB destination, Wilderness Winery, for the same date, but that link is also dead.

untilFinal route still needs to be tested but if you cannot tell from the run name there are quite a few left turns involved. We will be going from the Royal Farms on the western edge of Fredericksburg up to The Bone BBQ in Gainesville. This will be as spirited as trafficl allows.

Sorry you had a poor experience, when was this. Our recent reengagement with PMoA was due to a complete change of management from the general manager down. I agree the are always better prices on tires through big box stores or wholesalers. I purchase tires through costco as it comes with free mounting and balancing. Going third party in tires allows you the switch from run flats which is a major cost savings, and better performance. Is that tire price difference like for like (i.e. both were high performance all-season tires), I still pay around $1000 a set for tires that are the quality I would run on my MINIs.

Here are the full result to include your times for all your runs How to read times. You will see the time for each of your runs, with the fastest time displayed under the “total” Column. If you run time is followed by +dnf, you were off course and the time is disallowed. If you time is followed by a plus sign and a number (i.e. +1 or +2) that is the number of cones you hit and each cone adds 2 seconds to your time (example: 52.345+2 seems your time for that run is 56.345) 2025 DCMM School Final Results.htm

Last time I was in at Passport for my free state inspection, they lied to me and said I needed new front struts (they were torn). After I quested them, the picture link they sent mysteriously disappeared. Took my car to my Mini Doctor and he laughed and said they were just fine. Won't darken their doorstep again. Oh, and they wanted over $1365 for new tires. $775 at Costco.
-
Ditto, on Eli's responses.
-
You'll wear through tires a bit faster, and may find yourself wanting different tires, but I'd say to come out and enjoy yourself before you start worrying about that. Everything else you'll notice during routine maintenance and vehicle inspections. Maybe @1975_mini has other thoughts.
-
@Egadd, thanks! I think I would be about the same , not more than 6-8 a year. No other concerns on tires or other suspension things to keep an eye on? This is my first Mini, and I want to enjoy it but make sure I take care of it to keep the good times rolling. : )

CANCELLED -- Open Run - Morrisville, VA to Delplane, VA
STXMINI replied to TheEnglishBeat's topic in Events
Sadly we'll miss this one, we're out of town for a birthday weekend in NYC! -
I doubled my oil change schedule to every 6 months for the couple years that I was autocrossing and daily driving my MINI. I was only doing 6-8 events per year though, so that was almost certainly unnecessary. Stick to your standard maintenance schedule and you'll be fine unless you're out there every weekend.

Ok all, last weekend at the track was a blast! I think I want to sign up for the season, but I need to keep it as my daily driver as well. How hard on the car is auto-crossing and will it change what I have to do as far as maintenance schedules etc..? Just looking for some thoughts/advice.
