New to Group with a Riley Elf III

Recommended Posts

I guess I'm in the Classic group of minis. Mine is a 1969 Riley Elf III, that's the Mini with a boot. It's a little rough right now but the body work is started, the car runs and drives well and except for the passenger set the upholstery is in nice condition. BUT, first I'm going to put in those new front floor pans so my feet stop hitting the road when I stop....I feel like Fred Flintstone.

In order to link to an image (using the insertimage.gif icon), you have to paste in a URL that is directly to the image itself, NOT to the page containing the image. In order to do that from the Flickr links above:

  • Right-click directly on the image
  • Choose a size (from "Medium 500" to "Original"), and that will take you to another page containing the image in its new size.
  • Then, right-click directly on that image, and choose "Copy Image Location" or "Copy Image URL" (depending on your web browser).
  • Use that URL with the image icon above (insertimage.gif) and the image will embed for you here.

As far as the paperclip icon (this one: attach.gif) is concerned, that's for "attaching" actual files to your post. It is only available in the "Advanced" view when editing a message, and only for actual (paid) club members, not guests, because it consumes storage on our web server.

Floor pans are on the way and should have for this weekend. I'm getting it ready for the new pans, back is in fair condition, rust is here and there with some rework needed around the headlight mounting. I plan to do some spot sandblasting this weekend too at the blisters. Some of the metal is thin so I will cutout and weld those areas. Some body filler will have to be used. I have Historic tags and it is drivable, just a little sad looking right now. I was told on the Riley Elf page that we have about 25 of them in the States and 800 world wide. 998 cc's of pure madness.
