Just a thought - before you buy that, head down to your local rent-a-truck place or self-storage place, and see what they charge for the large rolls of wrap. I'm not saying it's the same, but they're close.

This sounds like a great idea!! im not sure how much of the front end is going to get getting covered in stickers just yet:dontknow: but i would be kind of hesitant with sticking this over any vinyl work :dong:

They say you can also use blue painters tape, which might be easier over the vinyl and it has a very low stick. The painters tape will protect from bugs but not rock chips.

The only prevention for rock chips is to never drive your car

At 2 mil thick it's just a matter of rock size vs rate of speed (yours and the rock's)

I don't think I'm gonna wrap the whole front end in blue painters tape, im gonna be getting enough wierd looks as it is, but what i really need is something to protect my windshield from rocks,2 out of the 4 years ive gone I've gotten a rock chip in my windshield and i didn't even take my car the first year so its more like 2 outta 3!!!!

I found this stuff for Windshields

I can't find a price. It is probably not cheap.

That sounds pretty much like the same thing I just had done to my new windshield: CrystalFusion

Was it expensive? Can they do it after the windshield has some pits in it?
I think it's mostly intended for a new windshield. It ran me $500, without the replacement warranty (which uses Safelite). I think it was an extra $100 to include the replacement warranty.

Having had it before, and knowing how MINIs are so prone to windshield impact cracks, I wanted the same treatment done on my new windshield. It isn't cheap, but in my own opinion, it's worth it.

I dunno, you should have seen Mark's face when he discovered his first rock chips after the Fall Colors run, he was so sad. I will tell him it's a badge of honor and see if that makes him feel better.

I hate the chips too, fortunately for him, the silver is easier to touch up and hide the defect.
