  1. Good looking MINI, I would agree with @SneakyBaron any time I am not doing the work myself I go to GTPeace. They are comfortable doing everything from basic service to track mods. If you are looking at ECU tunes, check out detriottuned.com, They are good friends of the club and produce high quality parts. They also go ECU tunes, you pull and ship your ECU to them and they return it with a staged tune. I know @MELO-R56 did this, and can speak to it. He has an 09 which was a year MINI tuned out the pop and burbles, and they were able to add them back in with his tune.
  2. Congrats, on your MINI purchase, we look forward to see you at a drive once we get through winter. Look forward to seeing photos
  3. I have not seen any come out for an event yet.
  4. used the extra day off, thank you snow day, to rebuild the carburetor on the classic Mini. Hopefully I can find some time this weekend to get it tuned up and running. I am thinking of taking it down to the dragon this year, but need to get some good shake down miles first.
  5. You are welcome to participate individually or once as a couple. Brandy and I do it individually as we don't share well.
  6. For everyone thinking of attending some quick information for registering. Be sure to do the registration part well in advance of the Feb 19 date that runs open up fast , like black Friday big screens at Walmart fast. Many of the desirable runs fill up within the first 30 minutes of being open. I will post a calendar that show how events overlap in mid Jan to help you pick and choose. As well as some helpful tips to consider for your trip down. I look forward to seeing you all there, and this is a must do at least once. I am sure many of our other seasoned veteran will share their personal tip as it approaches.
  7. Welcome, you are moving into a new frontier with working on the Gen3s as they are just coming off warranty for many folks. I will keep an eye out and share any information I can turn up. The LCA is the same type as gen2 and other BMWs, should just be pop the two ball joints (bottom of spindle and subframe) and them the rear tab just slides out of the bushing. Here is the pelican part write up: for previous gen MINIs: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/MINI/41-SUSPEN-Control_Arm_Bushing_and_ball_joint_Replacement/41-SUSPEN-Control_Arm_Bushing_and_ball_joint_Replacement.htm I was unable to find the torque specs, but it seems pretty standard across BMW/MINI paltforms: 90nm+/-1 for the inner (subframe) ball joint, and 56 nm on the outer (spindle) ball joint. We look forward to seeing how it goes and hopefully a gen3 person can confirm. There is no service manual released for the Gen3 yet, but you can get a one day subscription to BMW online manuals at www.bmwtis.com for $30. Pretty much everything but the wiring diagram is a PDF and downloadable.
  8. I have added a few more details to the event post for everyone. hes-gonna-find-the-jolliest-bunch-of-assholes-this-side-of-the-nuthouse-clark-griswold.mp4
  9. Great, we look forward to seeing you at the event
  10. His son did the design, and he asked if I could make it into a graphic. the owner of the MINI is Colin, he is a staple at the Tail of the Dragon. Not only for MINIs on the Dragon, but randomly throughout the year. he estimated he has 15,000 miles on the Tail of the Dragon!!!
  11. knocked out a custom roof graphic for a fellow MINIac that was in town this weekend.
  12. Sounds like it could be a speed sensor going bad. Without pulling the codes that’s just a guess based on abs error but no noticeable lose of braking ability
  13. I am open to suggestions
  14. Hey all, Colin is going to be in town this coming weekend and he wanted to know if anyone wanted to get together. Reply if you would be interested in a bunch on Sunday. @TGGRRR (Ali) @Edge @MarkDDrew @GreenCactus @NYRican MC40 @CHILLIN please tag anyone you might think would be interested
  15. Oil pump shouldn't be to bad, hope he's back up and running soon.
  16. Looks great. We have club discounts with PTuning and GTPeace. We will be working to re-establish agreement with other vendors in the near future.
  17. Here is the GPX file (turn-by-turn nav) if anyone would like to use it. The link below will provide the steps to download the app and use the turn-by-turn Antique_Run.gpx
  18. Welcome, I look forward to meeting you at a run soon
  19. Great looking MINI, I have always been a fan of the laurel scheme on the clubman

  22. You have the upgraded JCW suspension, those are really good springs, keeping your springs and replacing the stunts with koni yellows is a very cost effective and great handling solution. This does not let you adjust ride height it would be what you have now. This is the setup that Colin has run for years, if that helps rate the handling. If you want to adjust ride height then go with an adjustable coil over setup KW has a few variants depending on how much adjustability you want. Happy to talk more about it at the meeting.
  23. I might have been to 1836 a time or two, Good spot definitely worth a stop!!!
  24. Looks great Craig. Simple plug and play? Is the lower resistance causing and issues with "bulb out" lights?
