  1. This makes me feel better about not putting mine on, besides with the coupe I need as much open window space as possible due to visibility.
  2. Yep all are welcome.
  3. "Heading south, you soon arrive in Skyland, the highest elevation of the Skyline Drive at 3,680-feet."
  4. I should be able to make it again too, but you'll also be seeing me later this week as I am low on some stuff
  5. Ya bringing is fine, assuming its as nice as it was today we'll eat outside.
  6. Got a wave from a silver countryman and an all spice orange ht on skyline, as well as a "beautiful car" while stuck in stopped traffic on the drive. Then a thumbs up from a guy in a convertible viper on 81 on the way back haha.
  7. Added the route to the top. At wayside there is gas available Premium 93. The pumps didn't have card swipes but I think they take them in the shop. For lunch Wayside has most of the easy basic hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders to order(ordering a a little slow) they also have premade turkey, ham and other sandwiches. There are picnic tables and plenty of grass so might want to bring some blankets to sit on if the tables are taken. So far the weather looks like it should be excellent and hopefully it holds. And because we are meeting at a library that doesn't open till we are about to leave you'll want to gas up and use the restroom before meeting up, there are a couple different gas stations no matter what direction you come from to get to the library. And just hope there isn't a large accident(I'm assuming thats what it was, turned around and took the long way out) that stops traffic in both directions for hours xD
  8. Welcome, I like the license plate :top:
  9. Going back up it.
  10. Here is what I have so far. If I have time next weekend I'll go and do at least till big meadows and find out exactly where lunch will be. If anyone is interested in doing that with me it'll probably be Sunday(the 8th) morning. Skyline_Drive_Run.pdf Skyline_Drive_Run.pdf
  11. Sept 14th.
  12. Waved at a good 4-5 one the way in, and of coarse the one I didn't get a chance to wave at because I had just swerved out of the way of a Camery making way too wide of a turn waved at me. So silver hardtop that waved at a Spice Orange Coupe :wavey:
  13. Someone finally got his jcw aero kit installed
  14. Updated the info up top with the start location at the Samuels Public Library and the info for parking there. I'll get the full route made up sometime this week.
  15. If you're looking at it on a mobile device it will not show correctly. I should hopefully be able to get the route sheet done soon, I'm sent an email this morning checking if we would be ok to use the parking lot I've found that has an easy way to get to the park entrance. The K-Mart lot would have worked great but the light that we would have turned left at lasted maybe a whole 2 seconds before letting the oncoming traffic though. Basic route is starting in Front Royal(not very far from the start of Skyline), do lunch at one of the two Big Meadow(probably wayside) locations since that is about two hours in around noon, from there its just keep driving south till we hit the other end of the part, turn around and head back up. There are only a few places to stop if bathroom breaks so I figure as we get close to one I'll ask if we need to stop and then stop if needed. Then the end will either be the last overlook or the visitors center just before that.
  16. until

  18. And Blue Ridge Parkway time-lapse:
  19. Here is the skyline timelapse, blue ridge one is still processing.
  20. I took off last Friday to go down to the Blacksburg/Radford area to visit my brother who is there for his new job for a few months. So I decided to take Skyline Drive on the way down Friday, me and him would do the Back of the Dragon on Saturday, and then to get home I would go Blue Ridge Parkway. Got very luck with the rain holding off all day Friday. Then Saturday it looked like it was going to rain all day, but very luckily it stopped as we neared Tazwel and only sprinkled a little bit once or twice till we were on our way back up to Tazwel. Sunday it sprinkled a little as I neared Blue Ridge, then held off till I hit 64. Saw a good amount of wildlife that the GoPro in time-lapse of coarse missed each one. Saw a good sized hawk and huge wild turkey. Almost hit two deer, a huge fox, and a rattle snake(somehow heard its rattle with the windows open going about 45 from almost a whole lane over). Started with around 1500-1600 miles and ended with about 2300. While I work on converting and uploading the GoPro stuff here is the pictures I took with my phone. Skyline: Back of the Dragon: Blue Ridge Parkway:
  21. Got my first wave from a Sky Blue Clubman on my way up Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday, well at least first wave that I've seen haha.
  22. Mostly everyone parked together:
  23. Helljumper is nice and clean for tomorrow
  24. Passed one of the few other Coupes in the area this morning on the way in, blue with silver top and silver stripes. Also tagged a white, black top, black striped S Clubman with the tags of something close to NAWTEE.
  25. It wasn't a whole lot of soap. I'll look at the bottle when I get home and tell ya what it says if he doesn't reply by then.
