i dont know about 2 cans per but i did 4 very thorough coats per rim and havent even had to touch up anything in the 4 months they have been PD'd..also for masking..all i did was stuff behind the rims with grocery bags so nothing was exposed...remember any overspray on the tires will just simply peel off..also another valuable tool to have when using PD is toothpicks as they are priceless when u have a peice u want gone but cant get to it...

Nope wasnt me.....I avoid the Inner and Outer Loops like the plague...Sterling is close enough to DC for me..

I did mine about 4 months ago and still look great...granted I did 4 coats to make it thick and durable

PD is a rubberized spray an when it dries it is in a "flat"...think of a texture of a black garbage bag but flat on the exposed side.

What was wrong with the ferry????...Were u worried about sinking???.....With the depth of the river the thickness of the ferry and the height of the cars if it did go down the worst that would happen is that your shoes might get wet

With my rims on and cleaned it took me roughly two ours of prep and paint and was way easier than it looks

The run was great and I had a absolute blast...I feel it was planned just about right...Loose enough to allow leeway/fun but structured enough to organize and provide a great run...Both routes even being so short to the ferry provided a great run for all with a good amount of "spirited" and "commercial" driving...I would be more than glad to setup another run similar to this in the future with other members if the demand is there...Also...Bert..Your daughter did an awesome job on the radio with the turns and radio "heads up"..Give her a "Bravo Zulu" aka "Ata Boy" from all of us...I also wanted to know if you will have a chance to post your pics also as I noticed some great shots were being taking of us coming across on the ferry....Again GREAT drive and look fwd to the next one

Home Depot or Lowes ($6 a Can) are the best places to get the black PD in a spray can...If you want any other color the web is the place to go.....If you do your dash are you gonna disassemble or tape off the dash and spray in place??

Just a heads up to all..I changed the meeting location to the Petco/Home Depot Parking lot across the street from the Outlet mall...The Light coming out of the Mall is quite quick and dont want to cut the group in half from the start...

I'd imagine its less intrusive to the paint as it does not have any adhesives and wont "attach" to the clear coat and paint...

If you ordered a couple cans of plasti-dip I would be more than glad to help with covering the front of ur mini....Its not that hard and far cheaper than most alternatives and with enough coats should come off in one pull
