  1. The Udvar Hazy branch of the Air & Space Museum is out near Dulles Airport. They fly in aircraft (SR&! for example) for exhibits. Expecting to get the last operational space shuttle there shortly (flown in on back of 747 transporter). Just continue on out the toll road to rt28 head north and look for the sign.
  2. Good to hear. Now all I have to do is install mine
  3. It's not clear to me if the 2011 Countryman s All4 is included in this recall. Have looked at the Safercar web site, but that did not answer my question. Any thoughts? Or do I just wait to hear?? :questionmark:
  4. The original or the new one? Or better yet a double feature
  5. GONE to good home: GoMINIGo Third Brake Light Pulsar kit $25 Fits R50 through R60 MINIS. See http://www.gominigo.com/PULSAR.html for Countryman or Clubman installation instructions. I got an extra surprise for Christmas; not one but two third brake light pulsar kits. Unfortunately I only have one MINI. I'd rather this go to someone in the club than send it back. So if you want one of these kits to make your third brake light pulse when you hit the brakes, give me a call at 703-608-3331 and leave me a message.
  6. I have one, though we had to do a little dance w/Craven. The first one they sent out would not fit a Countryman which has a larger tow hook since the Countryman is heavier. Once we got that figured out all is good.
  7. I honestly don't know. Their "website" is all of one page :: You used to be able to rent darkroom space... Man! It's been a long time since I've watched the magic of an image appearing on blank paper... Photoshop/GIMP is just not the same thing...
  8. Fuller and d'Albert in Fairfax is another good place http://www.fullerdalbert.com/
  9. First things first: Welcome! Secondly I noted a comment above about sun roofs and solar ovens, I would differ. My Countryman (alas, till nameless) has sun roofs in a white roof over a surf blue body. It was not noticeably hotter than my previous car. I would definitely avoid black roofs as they are hot. Also recommend light color interiors, if heat build up is a concern. A sun shade for the windscreen is also a useful addition (Search the forum for the custom sunscreen thread).
  10. Add Rain-X to that. Makes rain, snw and ice just slide off. I do all my windows and mirrors so I can see where I'm going and where the idi... threats are. I also use Rain-X anti-freeze wiper fluid. Disclaimer: I have no connection w/Rain-X other than as a happy customer
  11. Yarsay, I thought of the key. I habitually use one key (another annoyance - all the settings revert to default if I use the other). The key does not seem to be the issue; I get the "lost source" effect with the one key.
  12. Have not check on NAM yet. Have not noticed if it is a timing "thing", but will keep an eye out for patterns.
  13. I'm experiencing a truly annoying behavior from my Countryman's HK sound system. I am hoping for some hints/guidance/solutions. If I've been listening to my iPod, when I next get in the MINI sometimes the radio comes on. Other times the iPod pucks up where it left off. The sound system seems to randomly choose the audio source. Drives me nuts. I've been unable to figure out why. :banghead: Any ideas?
  14. Just figured it out :embarassed:
