  1. FYI - Aaron Granger (from Dallas) has "modded" his Slanket with mechanic and past MOTD patches. Just sayin'...
  2. I ordered the part. I've wasted more money than $25 on far more hairbrain ideas before so we'll see what happens. BTW, I've never let practicality or lack of skill get in the way of executing an idea. Right now I'm thinking break the tabs off and stick the frame on with adhesive. My less practical idea is drillilng holes in the plastic bumper cover and attaching the tabs with rivets. Maybe after I actually have it in my hands I will be inspired with other ideas.
  3. THANK YOU! I think I found it. If I'm correct, it's part #51122753653 and its less than $25. The only thing I'm not 100% positive about is the pic of the part seems to have little tabs and I don't have slots in my bumper to accommodate those tabs or at least I don't think I do. Hmmm. How to install?
  4. Guess what? I had the wiring already in place and it took about 2 seconds to snap the light assembly in. The dealership installed a toggle switch, a new face plate so that I have a picture of a rear fog light instead of blank space and reprogrammed the computer. It cost about $350. While not cheap, considerably less than the original $1,000 quote. Now, for fog light part deux: The fog light itself is just a big ol' red light - and I am happy to have it - but I saw a factory-installed fog light on a Gen 2 and it had a little chrome (or chrome-color plastic) ring around the light. There is a recessed area on my bumper where a ring would fit. I asked the dealership about getting the ring and was told I have to buy an entire chrome-line bumper in order to get that ring for the fog light. This can't possibly be true. I tried to find the ring on a couple of after-market sites to no avail. Anyone have any thoughts?
  5. You're my hero! I'm not worthy...
  6. I'm making a run down to Dublin, Texas on March 27th to load up on the Dr. Peppers specifically for MOTD. I understand that clean clothes are sooo over-rated at the Dragon. Less luggage means more Dr. Peppers.
  7. Would y'all mind having a Dragon newbie from Louisiana (me)? I promise to bring Dublin Dr. Peppers... Besides, I would love to be able to put faces with the board names that I see.
  8. 2009 and 2010. If you have a picture of a line of cars, then vast asphalt real estate and then way, way, way back in the faint distance a little Lightning Blue/White Justa chugging to catch up, that's me.
  9. In that case, I need stickers of a RAGING INFERNO! May I offer one bit of advice to all of y'all? Avoid being stuck behing me if there is any sort of incline that you wish to quickly ascend. At MITM, I learned that my automatic Justa is a Flintstone car. By the time I got my momentum going someone would slow way down or stop in front of me. Arggghhh! I hear that altitude is not an issue at MOTD so I'm pretty dang excited!
  10. I'm going! I am jumping onto one of the Texas caravans of MINIs to Fontana Village when they pass through Louisiana. We are arriving Wednesday morning. I hope to meet up with y'all when I get there. I am definitely interested in checking out everybody's cars for ideas and am definitely open to suggestions.
  11. I have an automatic R56 Justa so mods for me are pretty much just lipstick on a pig. I have made just a couple of changes for comfort: I replaced the passenger-side handhold above the window with another visor (Well, that's actually for my dog's comfort); mounted and hardwired a V1 radar detector at the roofline near the rearview mirror and mounted the remote next to the tach; and mounted and hardwired my GPS other side of the tach. I hate seeing power cords. I also installed the complete suspension from a JCW WC50. OK, comfortable it's not but more fun it is! I'm still looking for the perfect wheels. Got any mods suggestions?
  12. Do I see regular hauls of DDP to the DC area in my future?? Hehe
  13. I'm not a beer drinker. HOWEVER, I am bringing juice of the gods - Dublin Dr. Pepper. For the uninitiated, it's original formula Dr. Pepper bottled in Dublin, Texas. (See http://www.dublindrpepper.com/)
  14. Thank You!!! I have my fingers crossed that I can install the light assembly at the D-I-Y Day at MINI of Dallas this Saturday. If not Saturday, the second quarter D-I-Y should be scheduled before the Dragon and I will do it then. I am hearing some grumblings that I might not have the wiring harness in place for the light assembly. Is there any way to tell without having to pull off the bumper?
  15. If y'all see some lost soul with a DCMM window sticker and a Louisiana license plate, that will be me.
  16. Has anyone installed a rear fog light on a Gen2? I have an R56 and was told that the bulb, lens cover, dash toggle run about $100 but the programming is $1,000. A friend said the programming was $50 for his Gen1. Is there that much difference between the two generations? Or, did I get a $1,000 quote because the tech didn't want to fool with it? Thanks y'all!
  17. ...dang... I was afraid of that. I hard-wired and stealth-mounted the car dock for my Sirius radio in another vehicle and sold that car without ripping out all of docking stuff. If I should decide to buy another car dock rather than continue to use the app on my phone, will it fit in the cubbie hole behind the shift? (I have an R56) I would like to still be able to move the radio from the car dock to the home docking station I have at work. But also don't want a tangle of wires or the mounting be so obvious to potential thieves. Pros? Cons?
  18. I have an R56 with the Y-cable for my iPod/iPhone and can control the device from my steering wheel. Is there such a Y-cable for Droid phone? The reason I ask is because I have a Droid with the Sirius/XM app. I can listen to Sirius through my car speakers by plugging the phone into the aux jack but I can only increase/decrease volume with the buttons on my steering wheel. I can't change stations nor does it display on my big speedo in the center of the dash (it simply shows that the auxillary jack is in use.) I was thinking/hoping/have my fingers crossed that if I had a Y-cable with a USB and two 3.5 stereo ends, the USB side of it would allow the Sirius stations to display and be changed. Am I dreaming that (1) it would work and (2) such a cable exists?
  19. Thanks, y'all! I ordered two sets - one for me to screw up installing and one for someone else to correctly install for me.
  20. Does anyone know who was selling the mirror stencils at Fontana that says "objects in mirror are losing" or something to that effect? I really NEED a set. :-)
  21. Hmmm. Placed an order and paid but no PM. Should I be worried?
