  1. This happened last time at Matchbox. I reserved a table and a bunch of maybe people showed uo. We had to move, then get a bigger table attached
  2. Well to be safe we booked K Royale Lakefront inn, for $120 per night. There are still rooms left at reasonable prices but doesn't look like a lot. We can cancel by Aug 2 if we can't make it
  3. I'm not sure we can go :-( It's the weekend before the family beach trip and getting leave will be tough.

  6. That was a lot of fun. I was so proud watching Rey's little girl out there. The only girl on the track and she was killing it!

  8. How to create a new event. What you need to do is the following: Go to the calendar (not this events thread, look to the top under Browse) Click on Create Event Select the date and date options you would like. "Submit an Event" and it will appear on the events as a new thread post here in the events. You don't need to open up RSVPs right away. If your event is over a month away you may want to wait until it's closer and then open up the RSVPs. Always include the following once RSVPs are open Date: Meeting time: Wheels up time: Meeting place: Description of event Once it's within a month of the event it can be "Stickied" so that it always stays on the top If you want to go more casual you can always use the Impromptu events forum which is a sub forum to the events. Just post your plans there, we generally ask that it be something within a week and that you're actually planning to attend.

  14. Thank you to everyone that helped make the picnic a success. We had a great time with everyone and will happily host again if people want it. It was nice having the air conditioning option too. Someone left a potato salad with peas in their serving dish.

  20. Great At this point I have no idea if we have enough chairs so if you have room please bring them We do have lots of banquet tables and tents to make shade
  21. We have a place and are just finalizing the menu options now We like to stick under $15 per person and it's usually 25 - 30ish people
  22. For the last few years our annual meeting has been at Hard Times in Fairfax. However, they allow smoking in a bar near the room we have and the smoke has become intolerable. We even had someone leave early last year which is not what we want. We have been looking hard and creatively to find a new location. We'll post details as soon as it's all firmed up Requirements are parking, a big enough private room, central location around the Beltway area and a price that the club can afford. This has turned out more challenging than we expected but I'm pretty sure we finally found a place.

We've had happy hours here and it's a nice place.
