  1. Where are the pics?
  2. Thanks Mike Those are nice. Now I don't need to brave the crowds to go see them here in NY (We're on vacation)
  3. Thanks It had some challenges because the railings were really sturdy and high and made composition limiting. It's a beautiful piece of engineering and a stunning dam.
  4. Brandy I love the shot of your middle daughter. It's nice lighting and a great expression
  5. I took this at Croton Dam this morning. It was kind of a blah day, overcast and dull so I flipped it to Black and white. It was almost black and white coming out of the camera.
  6. I love black and white when there are good dark blacks and a good range of tones. Those are very nice I think I might like the creek a touch more if the horizon was level.
  7. I really like the contrast and detail of the B&W Queen Mary
  8. Such a nice MINI
  9. There are several but I've never been. There are also meetup groups.
  10. You nailed the newspaper look :top:
  11. Love the first one with the whirlpool rapids. It has a nice composition and great color. I'm curious as to why you chose to convert the Osprey's to monotone. It gives it a cool old time feel that is cool, but I think it could use a little more contrast. But I always love contrast in monotone images.
  12. I'll have you look at my one rim at the detailing clinic if that's OK. Then you can let me know if you can fix it or not. It's great having a detailing expert onboard :top:
  13. I don't think we put it on the calendar anymore. It's in Waldorf http://forum.nccbmwcca.org/showthread.php?8104-07-27-2013-NCC-Autocross-Points-Event-4-Regency-Furniture-Stadium
  14. Wait I got confused..... Tyler set up another one for when we're on vacation that's with CDC. But 7/27 is the same day as the BMW autocross that we're all signed up for
  15. We're on vacation during this event. You will have a blast autocrossing DB. Even though you don't know Tyler, just look for the bright yellow Lotus Elise. He'll take great care of you
  16. Oooh I could use that too :top:
  17. I just looked at my comments, I meant the second was my favorite. Then my suggestions actually make sense. I have a thing for reflections and I like seeing them prominent in an image
  18. Pretty lighting
  19. Probably, send him an email through the site. I know he's going to come out here but was having some problems logging in earlier today
  20. OK, here goes two portraits. One is Sherman and Joanne's beautiful daughter Sasha and the other is our very own Stephanie with her friend Leah. I like the shot of Sasha because the post processing seems to go well with her look and expression. I find the expressions on Stephanie and Leah interesting, as if they were disturbed during a moment of gossip. I have the shots on my site, but I can't figure out how to show them embedded from the link. So I am updating the pictures
  21. Thank you guys for sweeping. I loved hearing Catalina's voice declaring that all MINIs had made the turn
  22. We have a new club vendor, Odds and Ends Detailing http://www.oddsandendsdetailing.com/ This is the same shop that is offering the free detailing clinic. He is offering club members (paid with a membership card) a 10% discount on products and services. He sells Adams products and works on a lot of high-end vehicles. He's excited to work with us in the club.
  23. I'm a huge fan of backlit photography, it's tricky but does give some beautiful light. It's also a great way to get interesting images in full sun. it's a technique that I'm still working on. The third one is my favorite, I like the flare in the bottom left. I would straighten it a bit and then in post bring back some contrast and detail. If you have Photoshop you can brush in some sharpness on the bridge and the reflection to bring more attention to it. I love what you're doing with the light. I'll try to post some shots tonight when I get home. Is it OK if things are highly edited or are we going more for realistic photography?
  24. And Kevin got my seized valve stem covers off!!! :top:
  25. They're the exact same shots, but you can download high res from my site
