Great question! The answer is YES! Each month will have a "theme" for the desired photo's. Since it is a site of, by and for MINI enthusiasts, I'm leaning towards keeping the contests related to MINI's. Must you have a MINI in every photo? I think the spirit and intent would say that the photo's submitted need to have a MINI/Mini or a part of or something that can be identified as being related to either classic or current MINI/Mini auto's in them.

I'm looking for three volunteers who would like to be the team to review and select finalists for the DCMM photo of the month! If you are a photographer, journalist, artist or just someone who appreciates a good picture, then this will be fun. If you are interested, email or PM me. I'll take the first three for the next contest and if there are more names, I'll just start a roster for follow on months. If you are more interested in making the selections than taking the photo's, let me know and I'll keep you on that part for a longer period of time. Committee members aren't eligible to post pictures for that month so I'd like to have a list of folks to use (with prior consent of course). Thanks and happy snaps to everyone! Craig

Thanks everyone, had a great weekend. It sure was fun!

I woke up at 4:30 with a list of things to get done and ready to just jump in the car! Attached are turn by turn directions for the proposed route to Monterey today. If you can, print a copy. If you can't, don't worry, my printer is chugging away at

Oh Lord I swore I wouldn't, Buuuuuuut...

+1 for looking cool. More important though, you like 'em AND! as you pointed out, if you don't like 'em in a month or six months, you can pull them off and change the look. -
Ali - if you want to meet up with it this evening, it'll save you having to carry it down there. Jim - Limerain won't work at all unless it's a native Windoze install. Hoping for the same resolution with Greenpoison.

Hey, if someone headed to the FCR event is taking a windows laptop (or netbook), I'd like to JB my phone but neither Limerain or Greenpoison work reliable on a Mac. If you don't mind - and you have a moment, could you D/L the Greenpoison JB program ([u

Successful front speaker replacement
cmcveay replied to palemud's topic in Maintenance & Modifications
Hey, I'm really interested in doing the same things you are with the audio. Since I have a cavernous space under my rear seat delete, I've got a place for an aftermarket amp as well. I'd also like to add some sound deadening to the rear end when doing all of that and I've already got a roll of dynamat ready to go. When you get ready to do the rear speaker upgrade, give me a shout and I'll be glad to join in. -
Alright everyone, it looks like we have a few peeps who are ready to rock and roll to Monterey, VA on Friday. Nobody has asked for a change in the departure time so the plan is to meet at noon and we'll roll at 1230. If you would like to have my phone

"Oversize SUV"? Isn't that kind of redundant? Kind of like "Government Inefficiency"?

For a very reasonable fee ($3 ea), you take one shot with a shotgun at 15-20yds. Whoever has the closest to the center (a paper plate with crosshairs on it) will win. The prize? A turkey! The $3.00 will go toward the cost of the shotgun shells, the paper plates and of course the turkey. If you don't have one, I can provide a 12ga pump shotgun for you to use.

Let's go have some hole punching fun!

CARdiac, Since we don't have a vacuum line to the master cylinder, we just use the vacuum line to the PCV valve. I think it's to the rear passenger side corner of the valve cover. Some use a small section of plastic tube, I just use my thumb to drip it into vacuum line.

Yep, you could always meet up with us and turn it back around when you want to head back!

Nope... Only a few cyclists but we were there latter in the day.

Wow! That's about all I can say about that "run" today... Do yourself a favor, don't get out on the road with a bunch of young "kids" in Evo's, Subbies and Mazda's. From Tysons to Front Royal, they bunched up in all lanes and then did a slinky (25mph

ECU Chip Upgrade / Mod - Where to go
cmcveay replied to thedonva's topic in Maintenance & Modifications
I've got a tune from Jan at RMW and he is going to a different tuning tool but he's still supporting the DIMSPORT tool. If you aren't interested in changing your tune (custom to standard and such, it doesn't matter what tool they are using. A point of clarification though, there's been very little if ANY luck with "chips", Jan and Alta are actually installing new maps in the ECU, not just altering signals the way the "old" chip tunes were done. I'd encourage you to read up on both Alta and Jan's work on NAM as both have recent threads that go into great detail about the tunes. As far as gains in HP? Based on the before/after dyno results in april, I saw a gain of 21.99HP/12.9TQ gain. I've had a couple of updates to the tune since then that have "Probably" bumped those numbers up a bit. The biggest change is a bigger flatter curve and one of the recent updates remapped the throttle mapping so the throttle is more linear, easier to control and it makes the car feel like it's never going to stop pulling. There's supposed to be a new update in the next couple of weeks and I believe Jan is going to add the "Pop and Burble" of the JCW in the tune if you are interested in that as well. PM me if you've got other questions about tuning the 2nd Gen cars. -
(AP) MINIAC STALKER IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL: Late yesterday, residents of Annandale were shocked at the arrest of a tenacious stalker. Neighbors who consented to interviews said they were shocked that Alicyn Drew, known to be an officer of a notorious motoring club, was arrested on charges vehicular molestation, tagging and public mischief. Mrs. Drew will be arraigned on Thursday. If convicted, she faces up to life - in a MINImum security facility.

Madame VP got busted by her neighbor stalking a MINI! Now that's funny! Hey, if you get arrested for vandalizing a MINI on the streets, does the President have to come bail you out and would that be considered club business?
-
Tim, Looks great! Are you guys going to bring both cars for the FCR?

Thank you, thank you, thank you... No need to rush for autographs, I'll be here all week.. Actually, I'll be here for the next couple of years!:top:

I'm happier that you avoided the SUV and managed a wave!
