  1. Ya can't buy that one at a store Mr. Emoticon...

    Wanted!

I've got a Sirius unit that sits in the cup holder - no remote - and it goes through the aux in. The sound could be better and I want to be able to control it through the head unit. I know, I know, I'm spoiled but I want to get rid of the clutter.
  3. Hey Jim, here's a little known secret! When you start a new thread, look down at the bottom and there's an option to disable the emoticons! Of course an admin can go back and change that but at least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you tried so you'll get to keep your "Man Card". Unlike Alan who has lost his.
  4. Ali, A good business partner is essential! Let's see, tires are shoes, brakes are socks so I guess I'm doing joint replacement surgery... My plan for now is to have Archi in the operating room (DIY Garage) on Sunday for new struts and I think Jim is going to meet me so Nigel II can have a transfusion (oil change) and swap out his Ugggs for a set of sandals... Oh, if the postal service is on time, Archi will also have a new voice box because Jim Carman is a badddddd, badddddd man....
  5. I do like this! Now, if it was blue and spit fire!
  6. I'll send Barry an email to ask about that and since it looks like I'll have some time on my hands early next week, I'll see if I can go through past MOTD threads to get some information that I can add to the current MOTD thread. I suspect the radio channels will remain the same but it won't hurt to ask.
  7. The way it's looking, I could have LOTS of time for detailing next week. I may even resort to offering detailing for a small fee so I can keep the lights on and the tank full of gas! There's nothing like unpaid vacation time... a.k.a. Furlough! I do like the idea though!

  10. So that's gonna be like 1 pair of shoes for every 20 MINIs, right? I wonder if any of them are bringing bears with them?
  11. I've got 4 that we can bring if needed.
  12. Yeah, I saw a zip car Prius and a zip car Scion XB, maybe they'll give you one of those for the Dragon!
  13. Too bad you didn't remove a few more.....
  14. Anyone out there with an HD (1080p) GoPro camera they aren't using? I'm interested in buying, leasing or renting (with a full security deposit for the lease/rent option). PM or email is preferred.
  15. Alan, You've just lost your "Man Card". You know how Ali is with emoticons!
  16. Wow, tough call Laura. From the posts that I've seen, the problem presents itself when cold and as the car warms up, it goes away but the next morning, it's back again. It's kind of hard to second guess the SA. Maybe you should just drive Cricket constantly between now and the Spring Fling! That way, it doesn't get cold!
  17. TGGRR drives himself. Between singing, waving, and talking on the phone, there's not much time left for driving...

    I'll bring it on Saturday!

    Wanted!

Haemish, If I have the software and the cable/connector, would you be interested in looking into it? As you know, I'm a Mac guy so running that kind of stuff on my little netbook isn't all that "fun". The good news is that the NCSExpert software and the cable/connector works on 1st and 2nd Gen! My satellite rcvr is on the way, I should have it by the weekend. The "instant gratification" part of me says I'll just pay the $100 or so and have the dealer activate it!
  20. Gigi, Hey, did you ever do the install on the rear fogs?
  21. cmcveay

    Wanted!

I'm with you there! We (owners) can do the install, it's all pre-terminated connectors. As far as activating, I was playing with the software that would allow us (owners again) to get into the body control modules and change things but I lost patience. If there's anyone that has the time and interest to read up on the process, I'm willing to loan the connector and cable (as well as the software). With this, you could retrofit things and have the ability to turn them on, just like the dealer does. There's a long thread on NAM and some on the Bimmer forums about the software.
  22. Uh oh. I've confused Ali... Caveat emptor (Latin) - let the buyer beware (don't blame me if you get a ticket) Laissez les bons temps rouler (French) - Let the good times roll Don't put red, blue or white blinking lights on your car and drive down the road, it's asking for trouble as most places reserve those light colors (especially blinking/flashing/pulsating) for emergency vehicles. The rest of it was a joke because it's kind of hard to describe the required lighting on sea-going vessels and it's been a few years since I've had the con of a billion dollar guided missile cruiser or had to worry about international rules of the road...Hmmm, why are they called rules of the road when there are no roads in the ocean???
  23. Caveat emptor and Laissez les bons temps rouler! You may consider that your Latin and French 101 lesson du jour. Yes, in many places, it's illegal to have those color lights on your car while it is in motion, especially blinking... The glow sticks won't be blinking and the rest of the lights that I have coming won't blink either. Now, if you'd like to get into required lighting for sea-going vessels, it's gonna take a powerpoint presentation, 6ft of twine, one life preserver and a very large longshoreman. P.S. I tried to get LLBTR for my license plate - in recognition of my Cajun heritage... It was taken.

    Wanted!

Brian, Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, it looks like their offering are all for 1st Gen's. I thought I'd found a solution with an interface from DICE but, as it turns out, there appears to be a typo in their advertising and it's like the Blitzsafe device that you've got installed. Haemish turned me onto Morristown MINI's parts department so I've reached out to them to see about getting the OEM receiver and I've also been in touch Schatzy to get together while we are in Fontana to see if he's got any info on it. He's pretty much a walking/talking encyclopedia of knowledge on the 2nd Gen audio system. I'm not going to crash and burn if I can't do this but I've got to try! Thanks, Craig
