Washington Mill is an pleasant complex consisting of a dozen historic buildings in a pedestrian friendly setting. </p> <p>The meticulously landscaped gardens and large sidewalks create a relaxing oasis from the stresses of urban life.</p> <p> </p> <p>The oldest building at Mt. Washington Mill, The Stone Mill, dates to 1811 and is the third oldest water powered cotton mill in the United States. </p> <p>Mt. Washington Mill operated as a cotton mill for a number of years as the complex grew.</p> <p> </p> <p>Over the years, Mt. Washington Mill grew and more buildings were constructed. </p> <p>The Maryland Nut and Bolt Company operated out of Mt. Washington Mill throughout the 20th century until 1989.</p>
