I just tallied up how much we raised today. $1382!!! This does not include proceeds from the shirt sales or the restaurant. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated!!

If you're going to be working in Arlington, it will be a lot more convenient to live in VA. I also work in Arlington and lived in DC (Adams Morgan) for awhile. The commute wasn't bad at all because I was very close to Rock Creek Parkway and it was a reverse commute. It took about 15 minutes. However, if I took the Metro, it was closer to 45 due to having to transfer lines. I live in Alexandria now (right on the Alexandria/Arlington border) and my commute isn't too bad. Driving it's just under 30 minutes and that's due to traffic. If it's not rush hour, it's closer to 10. If you're looking for a MINI shop in VA, there is Mach V in Sterling and MINI Dynamics (they come to you!).

I wasn't going to buy any. Way too expensive and too much work to paint a whole car, but yeah, research before spending that much.

I found a plasti-dip alternative. It's really expensive, but if you're wanting to do the entire car, it might not be a bad alternative. They didn't do 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Mario and Luigi (Catalina and Geno), "The General Lee and Uncle Jesse" (Craig and Lona) and the Delorean from Back to the Future (Steve) won the "big" prizes. Everyone did a great job and we had an amazing turnout. Can't wait for next year!!

When I lived in Indiana I had deer whistles on my car. I had just as many close calls with them as without them. While I don't think they hurt anything, you wouldn't want a false sense of security because you have them.

I was just working on the t-shirt orders and we are not even close to the minimum order, which is 24. I will not be sending invoices until we reach the minimum. If anyone has not placed an order, please do! The deadline is October 24! Please PM me your order. There will not be any extra shirts for sale at the event, so you must pre-order.

If you have ordered a t-shirt, I have not sent out invoices yet. I hope to send them out on Sunday. I will post here when I do send them.

It's 1" wide, which I think is too wide for Tigger. It's from Prostripe. I'll bring it with me on Saturday. Well, I'll try. It's in a box, so I'll bring it if it gets unpacked.

Ali-I have gunmetal pinstripe tape that is the same width as the beltline. It's yours if you want to try it. It's a big roll, so I'm sure there's enough for a few MINI's.
