  5. Welcome to the DMV and the club, I really don't know the in's and out's of the roadster but they do look cool, I would guess it would be like any other mini as depending on the year of the car you may have to anticipate a lot of maintenance but as far as a good mini mechanic a lot of the members go to GT peace in Chantilly because they are great over there. That's about all I could give ya, good luck and when you get your roadster I would love to see it.
  6. Hello, I'm new to the DMV area and interested in buying my first car (ever), and I decided on a Mini Roadster. Does anyone have experience with the Roadster, and would like to share? Also, I am looking for a good, Mini mechanic who would be able to help with some Pre Purchase Inspections - if you have recommendations please let me know. Thank you!
  7. Last week
  8. Unfortunately, I think I'm out for all of it. CA - way too far. NY - Weather is just too iffy that time of year. FL - I would love to do this, but it's a tough time of year for me to take a week off of work. Also, have you checked hotel prices? Yikes!!!
  9. WTTS looks like an awesome summer contingency plan! -NY: Normally we wouldn't miss a chance to head to Mike's hometown of Buffalo (Although late October is a huge roll of the dice weather wise) but we'll have just returned from our two week, 60th birthday celebration vacation in Italy the weekend before, and we really don't want to head right back out the door the next week. -CA: Having been to all of the places in CA, I think the CA event will be the best, but I'm not going out west again! -FL: My Pops live near Ft Myers, so even though Florida is a weird choice, we may do that portion if only to see him before the event. Still on the fence, but booked hotels rooms just in case
  10. Jill and I plan to participate in the New York events. California is too far for us for "three days”, and Florida roads tend to be straight. With that said, Jill and I had plans for the MTTS being in July, so we are creating our own WTTS (Widdie's Take The States). We are heading down to the Back of the Dragon, then continue with twisties to Lexington, KY. We will then head west of Chicago and north into Wisconsin for some relaxing time at a resort on Lake Michigan. After that we will be taking the S.S. Badger Ferry into Michigan, then heading back towards Virginia. We figured, why be disappointed? You can always have fun with just one MINI. More would be better, but …

  14. This definitely was not what we were expecting. Would love to hear what folks are thinking. NY leg is a week after MINIs take Vermont, which we have booked already. The CA leg is not fair, Kier and I met in Monterey!
  15. Not sure if I created the event correctly, but I wanted to start the conversation here in DCMM. -The only state that works for our fall schedule is Florida. But for just 3 days? With the prime season cost of hotels? And places I've been to many times before? I'm just not sure it's worth it But, if a MINI gang of DCMM-ers are going to FLorida, I could be talked into going

  20. Here is the old fashion route sheet, and if you are a tech person the GPX file for turn by turn directions. Though GPX files will not work with apple maps, google maps, or waze. They don't want you making your own route. here is a write up on the app I use and how you can load in the files to be able to just follow the line. 2026Mistress_Morning.gpx 2026Mistress_Afternoon.gpx 2026 Mistress Run Route Sheet.pdf

Drivin' down the road, I get a feelin' Please join us for a Sunday drive through Virginia’s rolling countryside. Our drive will begin at the Cars & Coffee in Leesburg and we will head south and west through some of the prettiest scenery in Virginia. This run will be limited to 15 MINIs and will be focused on enjoying the countryside in a controlled driving experience. We will pass along two meandering rivers (makes for nice twisties), cruise by many of Virginia’s horse farms, make a quick pit stop in Marshall, pop over the Blue Ridge Mountains, skim the Shenandoah River twice (if you put your hand out it will get wet), and eventually arrive in Old Town Winchester (https://oldtownwinchesterva.com). Our final destination will be at Vibrissa Beer and Kitchen where we will have lunch and discuss our Little Virginia Journey (LVJ). If you haven’t been to Old Town Winchester before, we are only two blocks from the Walking Mall which has unique shops, ice cream, restaurants and three breweries (an extra one is only one a block away). So, if you like quick twisties, beautiful scenery and relaxing old town charm, you won’t want to miss this Little Virginia Journey. Start Point: Leesburg Safeway, 437 S King St, Leesburg, VA 20175 End Point: Vibrissa Beer and Kitchen – 10 N Kent St, Winchester, VA 22601 Schedule of events: 10:00: Driver’s meeting 10:15: Run Starts 11:45: Pit Stop (Food Lion, Marshall, VA) 12:00: Leave Marshall, VA 13:30: Arrive Vibrissa Beer and Kitchen Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River

  23. I'll have my wife as a copilot, so count us in for two, please.
  24. Pick up in Prince Frederick or we can arrange a weekday lunchtime meetup in Arlington or Lexington Park.
  25. We need run leaders for our Hop, Skip, and a Brew for MAR/APR/MAY and an Open Run Leader for APR. If you have never been a run leader, let us know you want to do one and we can help you set it all up. You can also talk to us during one of our scheduled runs in February (2). There is also a runs repository where you can select a route of your choice at: https://dcmetrominis.org/forum/forum/28-run-route-repository/ Remember, runs don't happen without all our participation. It isn't hard to do, and others will pitch in during the drive. It's a lot of fun having many MINIs in your review mirror. Just drop us a line. You won't be disappointed.
  26. Does sound nice that is a good price in my opinion. Seems like it is definitely worth taking a look at because it can be difficult to find any JCW's with lower mileage and in the price range. I know when I was buying my Mini I was trying to find a JCW but they were above what I wanted to spend. Go check it out!!!
  27. It’s a 2019, 34,000 miles. Looks like it’s on Car Gurus but it links to Carvana. They list it at 22k. The service history, based on Carfax, is mostly Alexandria.
  28. What year? And who is the seller? Does look very nice but I have never seen it before. What kinds mileage does she have and how much $ they asking?
  29. It shows a pretty detailed service history around Alexandria and it’s up for sale. Just wondering if anyone knew the P.O. By chance…
