mistertripps
I finally found time to clean Stanley up a bit and the weather this morning was beautiful, so I took him out for a few pictures. I've got more posted on my MONDO-MINI page and Facebook. mistertripps
One of my favorite "useless" modifications - I don't know why they changed this on the R56.... mistertripps
I don't claim to be a Photoshop pro, but here is a rendering of what I hope Stanley looks like when I finish with the Plasti-Dip and eventually switch out to black-body headlights. MINImum
I think all your proposed black-outs will look good. And as far as the headlights on the R56 vs. the R53, I remember someone at MoSA saying it was because the headlights were actually breaking sometimes from the impact of slamming the hood shut. I don't know how widespread the problem was. But I really miss not being able to do dragon eyes like you did. They look great! - Cindy B. Jonshungry
Black-outs on a PW, if done right, look amazing  Best color on a Mini, IMO. But then, I'm also biased. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
cmcveay
I really enjoy reading the posts and seeing the work everyone is doing to their ride. I found this T-shirt over the weekend and I think it's very applicable to many of us! I look forward to seeing Stanley with the blacked out hood scoop, I've been so tempted to to that to Kooper but I'm worried that it'll be too much. Since I pulled the "guts" out of the hardly functional scoop, I do need to do something to the inside of it though. 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon "Homer" 2012 MB/CR JCW R55 "Merlin" Sold 2009 LB/LB R56 "Archie" Sold
mistertripps
Here are a few shots of the black-out - I think it turned out incredibly well. Plasti-dip rocks! We blacked out the beltline, scoop, headlight rings and the entire grill assembly as well as the boot handle (which you can't see in these pictures). I also bought a black vinyl boot bumper cover/ The only chrome I have left on Stanley is on the door handles, gas cap and scuttles. I may leave them that way for a while as they are a nice accent with the rest of the chrome gone. mistertripps
Here is Stanley's new CAI and STDs. Following these pictures, I did switch the intake tube back to the stock pipe as I couldn't get ALTAs to stay attached. So, I don't have quite as many red accents in the engine as I intended....yet. MINImum
Nice-looking Clubman behind your car in the third picture. I agree about the Plasti-Dip. I hope it lasts a long time, but even if it doesn't it's an easy mod and looks fantastic. Highly recommended. :top: - Cindy B. Jonshungry
Have you figured out what you're doing with the door handles? Mine are still chrome Thinking about getting some high quality vinyl and doing it myself. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mistertripps
If I do the door handles and gas cap, I will probably order the covers from Aesthetic Creations and see how they work. I don't plan on doing anything to the scuttles. With the chrome I can't get rid of in the headlights and tail lights, having a small accent won't be bad. His vinyl work of door handles, headlight rings and many other things is fantastic. Mike @ Aesthetic Creations is a great guy and very talented, but I have seen his door handle covers fade over time. One of our former members tried them and was not terribly happy. mistertripps
Since I'll be back soon, I figured I would post of few pictures of what I have done with Stanley since I've been gone. We ended up going with the molded handle covers and have had no problems with them so far. I also added a few more red accents, a hood graphic and black wheels with a red accent. I'll try to update Carmen's thread on here as well. We've added a few blasts of color since most of you saw her at MOTD when we first unveiled the LEGO theme.
