If you own a 1st Gen, and you don't have this, buy it. It's a fantastic way to get more useful storage space for things in the front of your MINI. MINI doesn't sell these any more, so they are getting more rare and hard to find - especially with the rubber mat.

 

I would buy it myself but I already have one in mine.

Under the steering wheel - it replaces the existing curved plastic piece, putting a shelf there instead. It is very handy for storing small items. The rubber mat becomes important though, to prevent things from slipping off onto your feet while you're driving.

 

I used to use mine to host my iPod, before I switched to a more permanent iPod integration solution in my car.
