Hi Mario, What date specifically? Looks like it's the first weekend in June?
-
We are also home, had a great time and also met some new friends. We enjoyed driving the Dragon even more this year then last. The events put on by MOTD, Barry and his wife, were so much fun! Everyone involved with that endeavor, and all of the staff at Fontana deserve a huge THANK YOU. This has me pumped for a great drive season here at DCMM.

I’m wondering if it’s just too far away for our folks? I’ll post again on social media, unless you think we should cancel?

I went down to MINI of MoCo yesterday because I had a screw in my left driver's side tire. As I was heading down my MINI rolled over 20k (She's a toddler.) The service tech took one look at my stock tires and showed me how, not only the one with the screw needed to be replaced, but the back driver's side tread was also below spec. and needed to go. The other two were fine and could continue use. He said they were the worst tires MINI ever put on a car and they're constantly replacing them. (And yes, I do all of my scheduled maintenance including my all wheel alignments.) Luckily for me the two bad tires would be replaced under warranty. Unlucky for me, who the heck wants two good tires and two ticking time bombs on their car? Maybe I could have waited and got the other two replaced under warranty but I'm not driving the Dragon knowing those two bad tires were on my MINI. I really wanted to ditch the run flats at my first tire change but he only had run flats in stock . Thankfully they were not the same as the ones coming off. So I decided with The Dragon and MTTS coming up I'd just replace all 4 tires. With the new Goodyear tires on the MINI I have a much quieter and smoother ride. I also got a free wheel alignment and my first MINI swag out of the deal. So whatever.... -
DAAAAAVIIID!! I got the run all posted up on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. There is also an event page on FB. Looks like a great run thank you David and Michelle for putting this together!

Those really look great! I see the matching mirrors too. I can see just a hint of the roof, looks like it's also Black U-Jack? -
Beautifully stated Brandy, I can't wait for my first (Real) MOTD!

Sounds like your sweet old lady can still hang with the best of them! She’s had a long week but she’s still killing it! -
I'll put this out on SM today!

It was def the angle of the photo, he's just putting the clips on the flaps, which you probably can see hug the outside of the tire well, he was not "under the car." I think my feathers are ruffled because it implies he's being stupid, when he's not, He knows his way around cars, and wouldn't risk getting under a jack by itself, we have all of the proper tools to lift a car, but it wasn't needed in this circumstance. We just needed the tire to rotate out a little more to reach the bottom clip, which he did from a safe place. -

Not sure what he’s doing wrong with the jack? He’s got it in the designated spot on the car. (Learned today that MINI marks them on the side skirt) and because it was lifted only to move the tire out of the way for install it was where it should be. Big Dog has worked on cars his whole life, he’s good, but thanks. -

In an effort to be kind to the Littles, STXMINI got some new accessories today. The Big Dog put some OEM mud flaps on for me today (Front & rear). We're hoping this helps with the rock spray issue we're told happens when you follow us during runs. Hard being the tallest girl in the class... -
From MOTD Yesterday: Per Fontana, they currently have 8 Queen/Queen rooms 6 cabins (2 and 3 bedrooms) Just need to call 800-849-2258 and say you’re with MINI’s. If you still need a room/cabin and want to stay at Fontana where all of the activities take place, I'd give them a call today to see if any are still available.

I'm not sure if this will help, but when I was having issues with my CarPlay, someone recommended this video for updating data. It made a difference for me. Maybe it might work for this issue as well? Update data (He gets into the how to part at .49 sec)

Excellent! Thanks for the info I'll give him a call.

I would like to get my windshield done with ceramic clear tint. I did all of my other windows in 2020 when I got my first MINI; but didn't really understand "ceramic" tint and all of its glorious benefits so I didn't do the front. *Bonus if I can get a 5" strip, at 30%, at the top (In compliance with Maryland state codes) Don't we have a "guy" here that does it? I know there have been tint gatherings in the past at a discounted price, so I'd like to give my business to someone who supports the club. Thanks ~Lorri

That's a great suggestion. Maybe, @SneakyBaron can weigh in if that's doable? Also, thanks for the info on MOTG, another one this MINI newbie has never heard of. I will post something about it on SM later this week about that event as an alternative to MTTS.

Ugh! Well that sucks! Sorry that happened to you Susan.
-
I'm glad it did, it was nice to see you on Saturday Susan. For thought, Are there other ways we could be updating members on run details, and important info for those not on social media?
-
Yes, we did remind everyone on our SM platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) on Thursday that this was a picnic lunch. The wind seems to have died down and it should be around 48° by lunch. We recommend bringing a blanket to sit on, it will keep your bum toasty!

I may not have a JCW but my S will get up and go well enough to catch up with ya!
-
@1975_mini I just realized that because of MOTD day drive registration opening up at 9:00 am on Saturday, and it being a little over an hour to Burke for us. We may have to catch up with you all along the route. I'm going to register immediately after MOTD opens the gates but we still would not be able to make the 10:00 wheels up in time. No worries though, shouldn't be to hard to find 17 MINIs driving down the road!!
-
Looking forward to it too, we're ready to run, WHOOP!

I understand completely, unfortunately. while we are working hard to encourage members to volunteer to lead runs this season, we still don't have our schedule full at this point. So to have two runs in May (Crack Pie and this one) didn't make sense when we had open months to fill. I hope you can make it in June. We were out tweaking the route a little yesterday and we have some gorgeous twisty roads on this run.
