  1. I was actually thinking of doing this to mine, but the chrome has begun to grow on me. I do like the look with the red 'S' though...
  2. Is that possible in an R59 as well??? If so, there's a party that needs to happen to do the codes and maybe smoke the fender lights! :top:
  3. Welcome, Nanite, from a fellow "new guy!" Sadly, my R59 has auto-down, but not auto up. It's something I would like to have, as well, but I'm pretty sure there's something to do with being a soft top.
  4. For some reason, getting on the ferry just to get back on seems a bit silly to me. :hmmmm2: All the fun roads are on my side!!! I'm in for the picnic, and can take a turn at the grill if needs be!
  5. the pictures have been taken, now I'm just trying to figure out how to upload them.... I eschew most sites that need accounts (flickr, et al) so it might be a challenge...
  6. It was great meeting people today!!
  7. A stubborn little lady, she is.... I wouldn't have it any other way. :banghead:
  8. If you ain't the granddaddy of all liars!!!!! *smirk* Ok..... pictures of Sonja are forthcoming....I fear a bath is in order first, however...
  9. Both gave and received my first wave today on Falls Road to a nice little pepper white hardtop...good times!
  10. Yeah, I suspect I'm going to be rather easy to spot! Had so much fun driving home today! I was quite glad that the storms had passed and I was able to drive home, top down, in 79 degree weather. The driving gods were surely smiling upon me today! (I really must stop using so many exclamation marks...)
  11. Picked up my roadster today! Needless to say, I took the loooong way home. I think getting out of Rockville was the hardest part! And, I apparently met GreenCactus... maybe?:wavy: I would have been more social, but I wanted to get out of there and on the road!
  12. my coupe????? pbbbbpthbpth!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. aaaaahhhh...... so near, and yet so far.... aside from meticulous inspection, what should I be looking for on delivery? Hood insulation? Leather scuffs? Drool marks? I sit and wait alone in my room... -m
  14. Hey, I cut through Potomac pretty much every day... I'll keep an eye out for you!
  15. yeah, apparently there are some discrepancies, and the ship won't arrive until tomorrow. No worries... soon enough, all will be well. however, who in their right mind would settle for an *automatic* *justa* roadster in *MY* colors..... well, the nerve! :hmpf: ok, I'm getting snippy.... I WANT MY CAR, DAMMIT!!!!! <throwing tantrum> On an unrelated side note: who on this board has been out to Poolesville?
  16. The waiting is definitely agonizing, but I'm in the home stretch... The ship is off the coast of Maryland with a Baltimore ETA of 15:00 EST. I went down to the dealer yesterday to pick up some paperwork and looked longingly at a r59 that had a similar exterior to what mine should be like. I was vacillating on my choice before, but no more! The wait, she kills...
  17. and the TIRRANNA is underway!!!! w00t!
  18. Thank you all for the kind welcome. Shipping status finally updated, and she's going to be on the TIRRANNA scheduled to arrive in Baltimore on the 15th! I'm thinking the only party that will be happening is a little one-on-one time along the roads around my house! So far, I've only seen one R59 on the roads... a little black number in Leesburg, so I'm definitely psyched. I mostly remember during the test drive I was grinning like an idiot the entire time, so that's pretty much what sold me. now, the wait begins... (continues?)
  19. Ah, and here I thought the difference between Mini and MINI was merely an over-enthusiastic owner with a caps lock problem. Good to be in the know, thank you! oddly enough, a name has begun to percolate a bit, but I agree with LostDenverite that I should wait and see after we've been together a while. If all goes well, she'll be on the COURAGE which is leaving Southampton tomorrow, but I have yet to get any confirmation on that fact. Hopefully, in about two weeks she'll be here! -m
  20. That guy on the mini phone line is really getting annoying, but.... Hello! I've been lurking around here (and other forums) for a bit, but finally took the plunge and signed up. According to the aforementioned annoying guy, my Roadster S is at the port awaiting transport, and the wait is finally getting to me. Hopefully you'll be seeing me zipping around with the top down in a couple of weeks! Since this is my first mini, it's nice to know that there are local people around that I can ask questions and get advice. I do tend to over think things a bit... -michael
