Welcome!

BTW, has anyone in Fairfax City noticed a whole lot more police out and about since the end of last week?
Yes. For sure. I am right off Main Street and they have been out in force.
-
I would if people initiated. I'm tired of looking like the moron in the small car waving frantically for apparently no reason.
I do, just so that maybe some non responders will put 2 and 2 together, and start to wave back.
I have noticed, if they have customized their MINI or have personalized plates, the response rate is a lot higher.

I'm not speaking from MINI experience, but, putting a tarp over helps tremendously. Most of the Jeep guys I knew that had soft tops would be fine with it. Easy to sluff off the bigger accumulations, then just pull the tarp off when it was light enough to do so.
Structurally, I am not sure how MINI handles these things, but, I am SURE they plan for things like heavy snow accumulation.

I think I might get emotional when this goes...I've been thinking of what I can get out of my 2003 r53, and what the difference would be to get this myself.

Scratch the interest, she can't do manual. She still really liked it though!
I love your MINI, wish I could take it off your hands!
Someone is gonna get a hell of a deal, good luck with sale!

I have an interested buyer, what color is the MINI?

Last night I saw license plate WHEE R53 on Main Street in Fairfax. I know I've seen that car at past events, but I can't remember who drives it. :wavey:

Took great care of me last week, pesky bonnet release no more! So convenient to the corp office!

Saw a really nice second gen Cooper S, matte black wrap, all murdered out, A panels had a different kind of grey patterned wrap, licence plate DKAY, I think? Good looking MINI!
Parking lot of Mosby Towers on Main Street, FFX City.

I think it's a NoVA thing. . . whenever I am down in VABeach, I get like a 90% wave or the 2 fingers up off the steering wheel.

This one is frequently parked at my office building in the City of Fairfax. I've tagged it twice...
Ditto. I see her all the time.

That's awesome! Did you get the tires too?
Nope, already good in that department. Wish I could have gave them a good home, but already have basically the same thing on now.
-
can't thank Chris enough for all his hard work on getting me set up with his driver light & fog light set up! Will be great for late night twisties, and they just look super awesome!

for our company picnic, we reserved a section at the fairgrounds outside of Nats Field for a few hours prior to the game, and then did the game. It was an awesome afternoon.

Looks like fun
Did you try opening up the lens and putting it right onto the fence? That can make the fence disappear in the shallow depth of field, I learned it from a sports photographer.
You did get a few nice clean shots, I bet you had a blast
I did, but there was fencing even within the fencing. Last time I shot racing, was at Donington Park, in the UK, I could focus through just fine, like when shooting caged animals at the zoo. This was just a LOT of fencing. It looked like the only folks allowed really near the track were media/press.
It was still a great time, I don't regret going, that's for sure! I was just hoping for getting some picks of dirt flying and wheels spinning. This was as close I I got to that...

We made it out to the RBGRC on Sunday, had VIP and everything, the General Admission had better views than anything the VIP area could offer. . .and SO MANY FENCES, impossible to get a "clean shot", but here are a couple...
Tanner Foust being interviewed, was funny to watch it on tv later being like, we were right there!
LINK to the full set, if you're interested.

Good luck and have fun, all! Sorry we couldn't make it!

Jono - we have the tools to do the brakes here and it would only be about the 15th set of brakes done in the Garage Mahal.
I know, I was yanking his chain.
