Actually to get the smoke you are not putting it into the oil. You can do the Seafoam treatment at any time. It's going into the PVC valve not into the oil. It's finally getting warm enough to do it again. We need to have a Seafoam party, but where? It's kind of obnoxious with all the smoke. Anyone have any suggestions? Ali

I've heard about this issue and you may be able to fight for it. When Tigger's clutch went they covered it and told me it was a known issue. I know mine is an '06 and maybe has a different issue, but 40k seems really soon for a clutch to go. Can you appeal or something? Ali

The car has 57,000 miles on it, so about 27,000 since they replaced the clutch. It was replaced the first week that Passport was open, I think summer of '09 Ali

I am at 57,000 miles now and it's still good. I don't know how many miles they cover on the new clutch. Right now I'm on the Carmax warranty. Ali

The clutch on my first gen went at about 30k miles, they replaced it and so far it's been great. Ali

Driving along today with Mark in Max and he spies the Red Bull MINI. I tell him to catch up so I can wave. He is dubious that they'll wave and tells me it will have a couple of cute young women in the car. Sure enough, we catch up and there's two young cute blonde women and they don't even glance at us, much less wave. They were not MINIacs, just doing their job I guess. It would be fun to have a job that involved driving a MINI Ali
