  1. Buddy! BMFF! Thanks, maybe you'll even help me since this stuff is so much fun. Ali
  2. Craig knows, he did his lights. Federico knows also, he did them on his Laurel. Ali
  3. I am pretty sure they're Xenon
  4. Great Uh, what's an HID?
  5. I love Aussie accents, I wish I could be there
  6. I'm actually doing some research into an air brush and compressor system. I can justify it for my glass art as once you have the system you can paint all kinds of stuff with it. The basic set up isn't too bad, around $200, then there's accessories and we all know how they go. Ali
  7. It takes a lot to offend me, I'm just soaking all this knowledge in. I am not by nature a fast driver, I can be zippy, but when I get on the highway, I kind of cruise. It's just how I drive. Still I do not want to be the slow driver in a caravan. I do want to do a FATT one of these days. Have to plan it out and take a Friday off of work. The video is pretty cool, thanks for sharing. Ali
  8. ahhh the memories :dancing2:
  9. I checked the link, they have no associated price, looks like they're out.
  10. The speedo needle is already pretty much an exact match. What color is the tach needle? I could paint that one, I have a ton of paint
  11. I just might do it if it's not too expensive. It would look really nice
  12. you're right! Is it hard to take the speedo apart to replace it?
  13. We'll be at Tara Thai on Sunday so you can bring ours there if you want. I bought Max his first badge holder and Tigger has a spot reserved. Ali
  14. I'm taking a stats class, so I asked in the 'ask the instructor' discussion area if I could work ahead for vacation. I explained that we wouldn't have much internet, and that I'd be having a high action vacation with my MINI Cooper friends in the Smokey mountains. He replied with the course answer and then told me to be sure I got to the Dragon at Deals Gap. OK, I admit that I saw his interests were in motorcycles and I drew that out to see if he would bite. I'm thinking it doesn't help my grade, but now I stand out in class. Is that a good thing?
  15. Just curious when they'll be here. Ali
  16. Look how quickly the requests are coming in, you're first in the queue if I ever actually figure this out.
  17. Everyone is artistic, you just need to find your comfort zone. You do have me thinking.... Hmmm an air brush and learn some painting techniques. It can't be that different from painting on glass. What could I do:questionmark:
  18. Wouldn't that be fun! Maybe I do need an airbrush
  19. You know I'm an artist, and for me Tigger is a big ongoing art project. I really, don't want to copy what someone else does. It goes against my artistic nature where we can spend hours talking about the difference between inspiration and copying. I know you can't avoid it totally, I mean blacking out the beltline and headlights etc is copying, but it's the kind of mod that doesn't have a lot of directions to go. If I'm doing something really unique I like to make it my own. I also, really, really wanted to do this mod on my own. I suppose if I knew the technique with the car paint I would have gone that way. But I think you need an air brush system to paint with that stuff. I found some really cool paints, but they all needed to be applied with an airbrush which I don't own. Anyway, I really like the look I have, and the project was really easy. So, if I want to change the color later, I know it's not a big deal. Ali
  20. I went with this because I knew I'd know how to work with the paint. If I went with the manufacturers paint I probably would have needed someone to paint it for me. Plus this way, you inspired me, but I didn't copy you. Now, that it's done, I really like this look. I wouldn't use it though on any part that would be near the body color. This is separated enough to work. Ali
  21. Uh yeah, we don't help you recover, we bring you in deeper Just black out one more little part and then you're done.....
  22. I'm not done totally yet, I still have to take the Tach apart and paint it's trim. I am done with the center trim and I really like the look. Here's a pic. The picture shows the trim a bit lighter then it actually is, I took this with the Droid, I'll eventually get out there with the good camera. It's pretty much a pumpkin orange Ali
  23. It looks great!! You've now been bit, you will be modding forever, it never ends. Just one little tweak and it will be perfect, until you think of the next thing.... Don't worry, we're all here for you to help you keep the ideas rolling.
