  2. I had the Continental DWS and they lasted 2 years. I will say the last 6 months they were pretty bad even though they had tread. They chirped A LOT which was annoying and at autocross I had major tire squeal. Now I'm back to running two sets of tires. I even got trapped in cold temps with my summer Michelin Pilot Super Sports and they were fine. First autocross was just over 40 when we started and they held better then I expected
  3. I had the prime rib and it was really perfectly done! :top:
  4. I am tried to get us into Matchbox and they were not easy to work with. I would love to see us meeting more frequently for social fun
  5. They were so easy to work with that I will happily set up other happy hour dinners there.
  6. That was fun, great seeing you all again and sharing our Dragon stories
  7. Anyone can set up a dinner. If you guys want to set one up I'm happy to help
  8. I made reservations under the name Ali "MINI Cooper Club" I told them 20ish. They are pretty flexible Looking forward to seeing people :wavey:
  9. Sure Bring him along
  10. Are you doing a joey mod?
  11. I didn't know what cosmoline was so I googled it. Then I found that Prima has a product that will remove it http://www.showcarsupplies.com/shopexd.asp?id=178&bc=no
  12. I used to have black CF look vinyl rock guards on Tigger, there are places that will make them pre-cut, but if you can cut yourself they'll be more accurate. They worked fine but a few times I hit them with some wax and because of the CF texture I could never get the damn wax out and wound up with white smears that made me nuts. If I did it again, I'd use clear vinyl like a clear bra. I have learned the hard way about tape on accessories, I am thinking magnetic is the same. When I took off my taped on hood scoop the finish on the original hood scoop was totally scratched from grime getting in there.
  13. Thanks everyone!!!! This is exactly the kind of information that I needed. Now I can safely go autocross and check my wheels to make sure everything is good before I rip through the course. :top:
  14. Enjoy the visit with your Grandma. Thanks for updating the RSVP
  15. hmmmm me thinks this is part of a beer plan
  16. Sigh, you're going to make me pony up for a beer aren't you? :beerglass: Even if they don't have it, I'll order it and pick it up. I don't have to have it right away.
  17. Who wants to come with me to Sears? I'll buy a coffee :tee:
  18. Thanks, I'm starting to understand better now. I don't want to waste my money.
  19. She's right you and Minnie will totally bond and learn each other. You're also in a safe controlled environment to learn about the limits of you car. For example, I finally pushed Tigger till the back end broke out and did a 180. I can't do that on the roads and I learned a lot about him doing that. Last Fall my tires were getting to the end of their life, I misjudged going into a turn on Skyline and went in too hot. Tigger started to break out a bit and because of autocross I instinctively reacted and didn't make things worse. I'm sure the DSC helped with that too. Add to that the adrenaline rush and the fun factor. We need more MINIs and more women out there doing autocross with us!!!
  20. Thanks, that helps a ton Now I have a clue
  21. OK guys I know nothing, except how to use it. I've used one a few times and I understand that part. like what pound range do I want for tires? I get that Sears is good and I know they have their own brand so I can go there and look. But I just am trying to understand what I look for. What price range should I be looking at? Like is a $30 wrench going to last or should I be looking at the better ones? Is there a length that's best to look for. Are there accuracy ratings? Little words and pictures if you want. I figure I'll need a set of sockets too? Do they just make ones that are designed for tires? Are all of the tire ones the same? Be verbose, I don't care
  22. Ok, but I don't know what to look for? How do I know it's a good one? I understand there can be varying levels of quality.
  23. You should see if you can get into the school. Autocross is a blast and I've learned a lot from it
