  1. It was good to see you TGGRRR! :wavey: I tried to yell my "screen name" but I wasn't loud enough, Ha! That is my normal commute route. These days it is so rare to see a fellow enthusiast who waves... let alone someone I recognized from the Mini community. The only other one I've seen in the last couple years was HZBLUR.... So, I couldn't help but get a bit over-excited. You were the envy of the GW yesterday, with the top down and big smile on your face. All the hard tops and "just another car" folks were checkin out your ride!
  2. Interested in a shirt too. Agree with those comments asking for dark colors - black or DCMM blue.
  3. Followed a silver/black JAC from Leesburg to Frederick yesterday afternoon, 20+ miles. I'm not sure she saw me even though I was right behind in Skylar. There were no waves at all, but she did get 15 or 20 text message sent via her Motorola Droid in that time!
  4. Saw the HzBlueBlur westbound on King Street Alexandria yesterday around lunch time. I was walking across the street to your right side as you were turning left. I waived, but you and your passenger were appropriately focused on driving. It was so amazing to see another HzB w/tinted windows. I did a double-take thinking it was Skylar! Walking back to the office after lunch, I saw another HzB JAC with temporary "just bought" tags. Chipotle plus two HzB's on the walk. Ahhh life is good.
  5. Ok dumb question of the day. Is the ferry a walk-on type with the sole purpose to visit the Statue/Ellis Island? So the plan then if I get it right, is to all meet in NJ at the parking lot, and all catch a ferry (leaving our MINI's in NJ) and go over
  6. Cannot wait for this evening. Wife and I are looking forward to it! Any interest in a rally down to PMOA from Frederick?
  7. Bought the package from Mach V including dome white LED and blue package. You can see my pics on my Mondo minis page. Love it, and so do my passengers. They think it was factory.
  8. I was out cruizin with the family recently and noticed this 04 MCS w/JCW Aero Kit. It was still there tonight so I stopped and looked a bit closer. 21,000 miles. Check out the web link for information. I post this simply as an FYI. I am not associated with this in any way. 9. No doubt, the Horizon Blue parade down the GW was a blast! I take that road every day, en route from Frederick to Alexandria. I miss the pot holes when I can, but it is tough. Hopefully the Feds will pave it again soon.
  10. Thanks Edge. What is the law in Maryland and DC?
  11. Yeh I got the pano's done too, with 50% I think. I REALLY like that. I don't use the shade anymore, even at high noon.
  12. Alright! I cannot wait to see a picture! Did you get the 35 percent tint from Carlos (plus whatever is on the windows already) -as rrsperry talks about- or did you get less than the 35 percent tint from Carlos? I finally had a chance to wash Skylar on Monday and snapped a higher rez photo with the window tint. I'm still really happy. I haven't had a problem yet, but who knows. It is probably imminent. <sigh>
  13. No doubt. Exactly why I went with 35%, no worries.
  14. Another great experience with Carlos's Solar Solutions! Skylar got the treatment everywhere but the front windshield. 35% on the sides/rear and 50% on the roof. Agree with all the positive feedback here! Not the best photo taken with my Droid, but you get the idea. Need to get him washed up and get the wheels clean but the windows turned out great. :motor:
  15. Saw "RELAXX N" BRG MCS convertible on the Dulles toll road yesterday. I had fun trying to keep up! Saw (it was dark) a blue MCS / White with rooftop rack and white mirrors in Alexandira this morning. Two obvious enthusiasts...
  16. Ok, got them all installed. I'm very happy with how it looks! I've pasted pictures on my Mondo mini page, but my camera isn't that great in low-light so they are what they are. Here is a direct link to the album. I'll attach my favorites too. The install went fine after the encouragement from you all, and Dan on how to get the map light lenses off. The lenses are very soft plastic so cleaning them before re-installing them needs to be done with a soft cloth or micro-fiber. The dome light even has a bluish tint to it so everything looks nice together. -Randy
  17. I too received the full bulb pack and got the overhead dome light done quickly and easily. Love it! I was able to pry out the under-door light casing easily, but got nervous and put it back in. Now, with your recommendation to use tweezer/needle nose pliers I'll try to swap that tonight. I also found that the cover for the light in the driver foot-well above gas/brake/clutch peddle comes off easily but man...how to get the bulb out without breaking it...stumped. Lastly, any tips on how to get the map light covers for the driver and passenger off without breaking? A perfect birthday present! Cannot wait to get this done and be blue inside to match the outside.
  18. Me as well. If temp is above 50 degrees F, there is no diesel rattle. Below that, lots of stares.
  19. Sweet. Just in time for the dark days of winter. Good thinking! I'll be ordering a blue set for Skylar. Agree with SidSwiftsteel...worth the wait for this special.
  20. I've been waiting to see what's in store for November!
  21. Any interest in a meet-up in Frederick for the casual stroll down 270 and the western side of the beltway? If we depart Costco at 745 we arrive down there round 9.
  22. We are a single mini family for now, but I can confirm the JCW is, well, totally freakin awesome! You will love it so much, you won't have regrets. I waited about 2 years before I got my mini. Even though I've had it since July, I still walk out to the garage to grab some supplies and come back in amazed that I have a mini in the garage. Totally cool. At our house, the SUV we have has more than 110K miles (a lot for a GM product). Hopefully I can keep it on the road until the MC crossover comes into the States. Then perhaps we'll join you. The Mrs. drove a Clubman and loved it, but saw more barriers than opportunities. Maybe a couple more times at the dealer will foster that along a little bit too. Good luck, enjoy the buy!
