1. Haha... funny stuff, Tom. Actually, I only had a few MINIs to choose from. One was Rio's PW R56 and PW hides the imp
2. Bummer. Oh well, more food for the rest of us.
3. :bootyshake: By the way, all... if it's raining lightly, the show will go on. If it's pouring, we'll reschedule for another day. If you have questions when you wake up Sunday morning, check this thread. I'll pos
4. Oh, I have a feeling you'll be able to find your way to the house, ccc777, you trou
5. Okay, I sent a PM to everyone attending (except for that troublemaker, ccc777) and gave my address for the event. If you want to come but haven't signed up yet... speak now or forever drive around in a swirled-out MINI.
6. Okay... Christine and some of you other slackers will be glad to hear this. After checking out the sunrise lately, appears I can safely move the start time back to 8:00 without fear of having direct sun on the we MINI as we go over the wash process.
7. I'm going to have a little fun in deciding which MINI to demonstrate on. But who knows, Christine, yours could still be the one picked.
8. Not necessary, but thanks, Jeremy. Maybe I can use your new MCSC to demonstrate on... huh ? :top: Kidding... not enough swirls in that paint yet to make for a goo
9. I see we already have one whining slacker in the group. Anyone want to bet she'll be the last one there ??
10. By the way, no need to sign up both here and on the C3M board. I don't want to end up counting you twice. Thanks. :top:
11.
As stated in the "feeler" thread, this is for those who want to learn proper washing techniques, basics of using a random orbital buffer and polish, and other miscellaneous detailing tips.

Bring your MINI, a friend or two, and a side dish. We have to get the washing and drying done before the sun hits my driveway. Then we can pull the experimental MINI in the garage to do the polishing and other detailing.

Please RSVP NLT 9/27. See you then !

13. Yikes, Laura !! Rotten luck. I hope you lowered that comp deductible before this one hit you.
14. Yeah, he did the whole MINI for a really good price at a club event so whatever he charges to replace the two front window tints, it'll be reasonable, I'm sure.
15. Yeah, that does look great and your MINI is gorgeous ! :top: Love the aero bumper kit. I think you should do CR mirror caps though. I have to take one of mine back to Carlos if I ever have a free Saturday. The driver side front window had a bubble in it, just smaller than a dime, since two days after it was done. The passenger side front... my other half scratched it with a purse as she was getting in the car recently. :banghead: One was due to the install, the other not, obviously. But since I've waited so long, I don't expect Carlos to do either one of them free.
16. CR: PW: And JB: And All Three:
17. Slightly different tint vs soft, easily pitted glass... I'll take the PPG glass if mine ever needs to be replaced. I've read a LOT of posts over on NAM about windshield replacements and the general consensus is the PPG glass is superior to OEM.
18. Now that I'm on my home computer, half the photos are coming up and the other half are still Red Xs.
19. ^ Am I the only one that will be having the picnic at RedXVille ?
20. You know how I feel about that (huge) comp deductible... Funny... you've been reading my posts on NAM. :top: Before you have them get you some OEM glass, do some reading over on NAM. Most people who went with the PPG glass are much happier... it's not as soft as the OEM stuff and doesn't pit as easily. And yeah, those A-Pillar clips should be in stock in plentiful supply at the dealership. Good luck, Laura.
21. Hey, Laura... why the reservations about submitting a Comp claim :questionmark: Over on NAM, I've heard good things and bad things about Safelite. Whoever you decide to do it, make sure you take some extra A-Pillar cover clips for them. They won't know they brake on removal and then you'll likely lose one while flying down the highway. I also have learned there is a special seal that you can get from the dealership... get one of those also. And that quote from the dealer... are they out of their minds ?? :stupid:
22. Thanks for the kind words, Jeremy, and yes, I do like to help install stripes. But viper stripes... haven't done those yet and wouldn't want to tackle those unless it was on my own MINI. I recommend Speed Design in Whitemarsh. John is the owner, really good at what he does, and is reasonable in his charges. He did my roof graphic and his price was less than half of the next lowest bidder (would have scared me off if not given glowing marks by other MINI owners from DCMM).
23. That was a great event, Chris. Thanks for organizing and leading it. :top: It was great to see so many new folks there. Or maybe not so new, just new to me. And always good to see some "old" friends. And that was the most MINIs I've seen together
