  1. As she's the only club member (and probably only person?) who has been to every MOTD since it started, it seemed a tribute was fitting.

maybe the only person in DCMM, but not the only person in all of MOTD. There are several, I think...I know of at least 2 others...my friends from Memphis, Dave and Cindy Miskell. His license plate is NAZGUL. I think they've been to every MOTD and Dave did the tshirts for the original gathering.

  2. So, I registered, but I only did base, since I am not sure about my timeframe yet. Hopefully I can register for some of the other events at a later date.

I wouldn't wait...some events have caps on the # of attendees....some have already filled up. Sooner rather than later.

  3. Arriving Sunday. Signed up for Welcome Dinner, Bingo, and Farewell Dinner.

Am leading a drive on the Cherohala on Friday.

Razor, it's a long grueling drive to get there, and I don't know if I'd do it just to be at MOTD for 48 hours, but that's just me.

  4. What: C3M DCMM BBQ!!!! :eating:

    When: Friday, May 4th

7ish (there will be plenty if you come after the Brewswap!)

    Where: C3M Cabin!

    Bring a side dish/drink!!

if your not going to the brewswap we could use some help getting things set up :top:

If you have a cabin # or location of C3M cabin, please post.

  5. A lot of the drives will be full by tomorrow. Don't let that stop you, though. You don't need a big, formal group drive to have fun!

You also don't really have to register, but you don't get the badge or the goody bag if you don't.

    Well said roomie.

  6. so with the fog+driving light combo is it better to have the fog on the outside or in the middle? so it would be

    driving-fog-fog-driving

    or

    fog-driving-driving-fog

which is the better way b/c i think i am going with that combo 2 driving and to fog

Mine are set 4 square, i.e. 2 driving lights, then 2 fogs directly underneath them...think of a square, with lights at each corner. Have had them that way for years and it seems to work.

  7. Read the linked document closely and it eliminates MOST tractor trailers but it doesn't get rid of all of them. Through trucks have more restrictions but local trucks can still be up to 48 feet long.

I guess maybe the Dragon should be closed and drivers it should be certified to use it? If it's closed, it'll be a private road so there's no need for speed limits but of course, private roads aren't maintained by the state so someone would have to buy it and then they would have to charge to access it so it could be maintained for the select crowd who get certified for it.

Seriously folks, it's a public road, paid for by the tax payers so it's open to "We the People" and not just "We the People that we think should use it". MOTD lasts for 3 days a year: Harley's and other motorcycles are on the dragon, spending their money almost all year. If they counted on us to keep their business going, they would starve...

The road will be safer without a doubt and yes, I joked about mini vans but, again, it's a public road.

we know, Craig...just letting our fantasies run wild a bit is all.

  8. For commerce, it's not a great step. Look at the area and you'll see that HWY 129 cuts the distance dramatically. Yep, I'm glad they are banned but I'm sure there will be some economic impact as a result. Now if they could just ban Soccer Mom's in their Mini vans from the Dragon!

and Hardley Ablesons...I got stuck behind one those 3 years ago...he took every turn at 10mph.:hmpf::argh:

What about the economic impact when a truck jackknifes around a bend and possibly kills someone? Let them drive the extra distance....it might save a life!
