Very nice of you to offer, but she's not that pleasant. :-/
She's 13.... Enough said. Hoping I can go.
I have a Wii (with lots of games), a PS3 and a huge TV.....surely we can find something to keep her happy for a few hours...does she do house/yardwork?
-
Katie,
I'd love to go and do this, I just don't know what stuff to buy or bring? Also as I stated in my RSVP, I'm doing the solo step-mom thing so I need to make sure she has plans to be occupied. Otherwise, count me in.
if she has no plans, bring her along...we'll find something to entertain her with.

LOL...Paul's MINI? You'd need a chisel to get the dirt off of it.
In the words of NASA, this is a "go". See y'all Sunday.
-
I thought there'd be a larger response to this. Consequently, if you guys would prefer not to do this and have a free Sunday, I understand. Please let me know asap.
-
We can order out, so don't bother bringing anything to eat. If you want something more than water to drink, bring that.
-
So, the 10th approaches and it's going to be hot and sunny. So far, only 3 people are coming and one of them is me....any more??
-
Never mind "The MINI" is staying in my garage after all.
you're not selling it? cool!

I'm gonna cry..

I have the compact air horns from MINI Mania. They are installed in addition to my factory horn. I think they were around $50 and I paid a little under $200 for Mach V to install them.
air horns are the way to go....really scares those stupid SUV drivers!

I guess I'm gonna have to research doing a monthly dinner on this side of the river....or move to VA....like that'll ever happen.
-
what the h is crack pie? Rock cocaine in a pie crust? Do you eat it or smoke it?
-
Intake, pulley, rear sway bar for performance....roof graphic for pretty.
-
you're leaving, too? ( What about the boat? You taking it with you?

Just an FYI for the newbs: Please give yourselves plenty of time if you plan on getting breakfast/lunch at Wegman's. At 9AM even on a Sunday, there's a possibility that it could be busy, i.e. long checkout lines.
I just say this so everyone has time enough to get what they need and still make the driver's meeting at 9:45. With such a long run and a such a big group, promptness is really helpful to the organizers. Driver's meeting is a must, especially if you've never been on a run before...
See y'all tomorrow

^^ Parson branch round 2 WWWOOO....JK
cute but not funny..
I am sure Katie will agree that once is enough for both of usamen, brother!
No water crossings. You're safe.phew.

I shot a couple of pictures while out on the route Friday and here they are.
The first photo IS NOT a road that we'll be driving on, it's the C&O canal path. We'll be stopping here for lunch.
The second photo is to welcome our first Countryman to one of our events! We found a small "stream" crossing as a way to say "Welcome".
The third and final photo was almost missed because Cricket decided to get the heck out of that "stream" crossing because that water was COLD! It's also proof that Laura can have a "heavy" foot when needed.
oh lord..another water crossing?? I thought I had gotten those out of the way in NC.

I know that change is hard for people and it's especially hard for the AARP crowd...

MY S is a stick and it doesn't have a gender cuz it's a car.
Nor does it have a name beyond MY S other than The Oldest 1st Generation MINI In DCMM. Sometimes I refer to it as "my car" as opposed to your car or Paul's car.
-
This for Jay? Then I gotta come, distance or no.

What is a detaling party anyway?
Detailing is cleaning your car...a party makes it fun. Folks come, share detailing tips and possibly, supplies. I'll supply the "fun" part... music, a nice place to hang out, etc...Hope you can make it,'specially since it seems you've never been to one. It's a social event with a purpose...shiny cars.

Yeah, if Seafoam produces that much toxic smoke, I would ask that it not be done at my house. My neighborhood is very close knit (read: paranoid)and tend to call LEOs at the drop of a had...or should I say, a puff of smoke.
Also, I just remembered my next door neighbor's kid has had respiratory problems in the past, pneumonia being one of them. I'm really friendly with them, and don't want to jeopardize anyone's health, least of all an 8 year old kid who's already a cancer survivor.
I'm sorry to be a wet blanket on the Seafoam blowouts, but I really don't think it's a good idea to do around here. Having said that, I hope folks will still show up for detailing.
-
where are you moving to? BTW, liquor stores are a great source of boxes...our local store gives them away.
-
I can help out if needed.

If you and Haemish want to cancel, that's ok...it's a haul to come here, just to wash your car...
