  1. Very nice of you to offer, but she's not that pleasant. :-/

She's 13.... Enough said. Hoping I can go.

I have a Wii (with lots of games), a PS3 and a huge TV.....surely we can find something to keep her happy for a few hours...does she do house/yardwork? ;)

  2. Katie,

I'd love to go and do this, I just don't know what stuff to buy or bring? Also as I stated in my RSVP, I'm doing the solo step-mom thing so I need to make sure she has plans to be occupied. Otherwise, count me in.

if she has no plans, bring her along...we'll find something to entertain her with.

  3. Just an FYI for the newbs: Please give yourselves plenty of time if you plan on getting breakfast/lunch at Wegman's. At 9AM even on a Sunday, there's a possibility that it could be busy, i.e. long checkout lines.

I just say this so everyone has time enough to get what they need and still make the driver's meeting at 9:45. With such a long run and a such a big group, promptness is really helpful to the organizers. Driver's meeting is a must, especially if you've never been on a run before...

    See y'all tomorrow :)

  4. I shot a couple of pictures while out on the route Friday and here they are.

The first photo IS NOT a road that we'll be driving on, it's the C&O canal path. We'll be stopping here for lunch.

The second photo is to welcome our first Countryman to one of our events! We found a small "stream" crossing as a way to say "Welcome".

The third and final photo was almost missed because Cricket decided to get the heck out of that "stream" crossing because that water was COLD! It's also proof that Laura can have a "heavy" foot when needed.

oh lord..another water crossing?? I thought I had gotten those out of the way in NC.

  5. What is a detaling party anyway?

Detailing is cleaning your car...a party makes it fun. Folks come, share detailing tips and possibly, supplies. I'll supply the "fun" part... music, a nice place to hang out, etc...Hope you can make it,'specially since it seems you've never been to one. It's a social event with a purpose...shiny cars.

  6. Yeah, if Seafoam produces that much toxic smoke, I would ask that it not be done at my house. My neighborhood is very close knit (read: paranoid)and tend to call LEOs at the drop of a had...or should I say, a puff of smoke.

Also, I just remembered my next door neighbor's kid has had respiratory problems in the past, pneumonia being one of them. I'm really friendly with them, and don't want to jeopardize anyone's health, least of all an 8 year old kid who's already a cancer survivor.

I'm sorry to be a wet blanket on the Seafoam blowouts, but I really don't think it's a good idea to do around here. Having said that, I hope folks will still show up for detailing.
