  1. Hey MINIacs!

I'm considering the purchase of the 'chrono pkg' gauges 4 Scoopie. Once I get them (after the LEDs are changed), is there any1 here familiar w/swapping from old 2 new? If so, would u consider doing them 4 me and, if so, what would u charge? I'm not gonna get them 'til the end of March/mid-April, so there's plenty of time.

    TIA!

  2. While picking up lunch (had 2 work yesterday) at Houlihan's in Herndon yesterday, I spot a lovely PW Cabrio in the lot. As I was walking into the restaurant, I notice a nice young lady w/a blue jersey on that smiled and I smiled back. Go in, pick up lunch, and lo & behold, she's sitting in the MINI! Naturally, I had 2 stop & say hello (her tags were from IN) and compliment her lovely MINI.

I was wearing my MTTB 2012 shirt (when working wkends, I always wear my MINI gear, since I haven't been able 2 make many events, it's the only time I get 2 wear them) and mentioned the upcoming MTTB to her. She seemed excited, since she's also Military. She said she just moved here and just may make the event! I gave her a card, so hopefully she'll check out the site and join up! Her name is Heather, btw ... I totally 4got 2 ask her MINI's name, tho ...

  3. Just looked up the Rave theater & the showtimes after 2pm are: 4:10 PM, 5:10 PM and 7:00 PM if u guys wanna make dinner in time.

If I can get out early enough, the 5:10 show is feasible; otherwise, 7 is perfect! I'm SOOOO looking 4ward 2 this movie!

  4. Oh, wow ... that could've been him, Greg. I just don't know ... he was already pulled over when I saw him.

Was that this morning? If so, that guy deserved the ticket. I was going past him right as he was pulling back on to the road and the next thing I know he goes buzzing past (I do anywhere from 60-70mph to keep up with general speed of traffic), then as he's going past the Reston Pkwy exit he cuts off people to go zooming over to get off at Ffx Pkwy.

I don't normally comment on people's driving habits, if they're being safe I don't care what else they do, but this guy deserved his ticket and obviously didn't learn anything :stupid::banghead:

  5. That was my understanding, as well ... MINIs aren't supposed to 'warm up' 4 however long we did w/other cars back in the day. I just wait 'til my temp gauge made it 2 the 1/2 mark b4 turning the heat on. Prior to that, I turn on the bun warmer, which makes it a bit more comfy 'til the car completely gets warm. :top:

I was told, before my first Winter as a MINI-Momma, to not sit idle to warm up the MINI. Let it warm in motion?

Has anyone else heard this MINI-specific non-idle suggestion? I think I saw it in the Owners Guide somewhere.

I will rock the seat warmers until the engine sounds like it's warm, before I crank the heat on.

It was something I picked up during those freezing TX Winters. If I didn't give myself enough time to warm the car up, I had to sacrifice the heat for a few miles. Not to mention it saves us a few more pollutants in the air.
