  1. Well, it's finally my turn for this. I started Cricket this afternoon and she was making a terrible noise. I was near MoS, so I stopped in. The SA was shocked I hadn't had the timing chain replaced yet and is pretty sure that's the issue. Here's my question: I can't take her in until Monday. The SA said it was fine to drive her, but should I? What about the run on Saturday?
  2. Guess how many pairs of shoes I'll bring to MOTD Last year, I got teased because a brought 12 pairs of shoes. So, this year, I've decided to hold a contest. Guess how many pairs of shoes I'll bring! The winner will get something- I haven't decided what yet. Please pm your guesses to Kgdblu. Do NOT post them here! Hint: I will bring at least 3 pairs and less than 100.
  3. Another opinion on the tires: I chose to stick with the run flats. (I have the same ones as Edge). I don't mind the harsher ride at all. I decided to keep them because I don't want to have to deal with changing/plugging/sliming a tire in who knows what kind of a neighborhood. I do agree they aren't perfect and you can still have problems, just as the person on the run did. You CAN fix them if you get a nail (or similar) in them, as long as it is further than 1" from the sidewall. Mr.Tire can deal with run flats and they're pretty common in the area. It comes down to a personal preference. I was ready to switch to non run flats and realized the piece of mind they gave me was worth the trade off. As for your other questions... I always use 93 (or 91, if 93 isn't available). I don't have anything to add the other questions, those have been covered pretty well. I always wave, unless I really don't see you, and then I feel bad. I hardly ever get waves back, but that's ok. (Well, not really, but I can't take away the person's MINI)!
  4. I just ordered a roll of this from Griots. :motor:
  5. T-shirts and Grill Badges have been ordered!! I did order a few extra t-shirts, so if you'd like to reserve one, please let me know. Pre-payment is required to hold one for you. If you've already ordered - you're all set! I'm hoping to get them in time to mail them out before MOTD, but it's possible I will need to take them with me. I'll keep everyone informed. ETA: In case anyone (Craig) noticed, on the t-shirt, it has our website listed as North American Motoring. That will be fixed on the real ones!
  6. Hmmm.... I have a dark green Slanket. Maybe I could sew some racing stripes on it.
  7. Last call for Pre-orders!! I'll be submitting the order tomorrow!! Also - we are going to go ahead with the grill badge order even though we didn't meet the minimum. Since there is no year on them we can keep them for next year.
  8. I think, because it's a two-seater, it's ok.
  9. I don't think they had a dealer-installed kit for the automatic until the 2nd gen, but I'm not positive.
  10. We've met the minimum for the t-shirts! I've sent everyone who ordered an invoice via Paypal. We do need everyone who pre-ordered to pay. We are not even close on the grill badges... The deadline for ordering is March 20!! Which is this coming Sunday!!
  11. While everyone makes mistakes, I know of two cases where MOTD vendors caught mistakes made by the dealerships or other vendors. It's important to be careful no matter where you are or who does the work!
  12. The DIY place didn't seem to mind.
  13. No, just the dark blue this year. The multiple colors were fun, but a huge hassle. Also, I've gotten quite a few requests to offer ladies cut shirts and that plus additional colors might have made my head explode.
  14. We are selling DCMM MOTD T-shirts again this year! Back Front Also available - Grill Badges! The t-shirts are $15 for DCMM Members and $20 for Non-members. The grill badges are $7 for members and $10 for non-members. Shipping included. The t-shirts are available in both mens and ladies cuts in sizes small through 2xl. If you need a 3 or 4xl, there will be an additional charge of $3. We need a minimum of 15 t-shirt orders and 25 grill badges before we can commit to ordering them. If you would like to order one or both, please send me a PM with your sizes and I will send you a Paypal invoice. We are requiring pre-payment. Should we not meet our minimum, you will be refunded. We will be ordering extra t-shirts, however, there's no guarantee the size you want will be available, so please pre-order! Deadline for ordering is March 20!
  15. This is what 27 12-packs of Mountain Dew Throwback looks like in a MINI. I also had over a weeks worth of clothes and all sorts of random stuff I acquired during the trip. I don't have a picture of the car fully loaded, but there was no room for a passenger and it was hard to see out of the back! Actually, I'm not sure that was all of it...
  16. That used to happen to the MINIs at Zipcar. It needed to be fixed by the shop who did the windshield install.

  18. What if the bears eat the power lines? :aetsch:
  19. The quality of the food at Union Jack's has gone way down. It seems since they've expanded, the quality has suffered.
