  1. The other thing that hasn't been mentioned yet, is the importance of paying attention to the road. If you're a driver, you don't get to take pictures, look at the flowers, wave at the bears, etc. Your eyes need to be on the road at all times. A lot of times, other drivers will signal if there's something you need to watch out for. It might be that there's a cop, but it might be that a large vehicle is coming through or there's been an accident. It gets intense and it's ok to pull over if you need to. Also, if you're arriving via the Dragon, make sure the stuff in your car is secure. You don't want suitcases, coolers, food or pets falling on you. Have we sufficiently scared all of the first-timers, yet?
  2. MINIBee put this video together from MOTD 7. Don't end up on one these videos!
  3. Yeah, and since Graham County is dry, it's probably a crime, too, since I don't have a license.
  4. Also, there's a lot of drinking that goes on at night. Don't even THINK about going out for a drive after you've had a drink. You need to be 100% when you're out on those roads.
  5. Safety cannot be stressed enough. If you can't make a turn without crossing the double-yellow, then you're driving too fast. There is some really good information on the MINIs on the Dragon site. Driving the Dragon Also, don't let the Hellbender (28) fool you. It's got a much higher speed limit than the Dragon, but you need to be just as careful. There is at least one accident every year (not always a MINI) because someone got careless.
  6. I think the Dragonberry spritzers sound really good! That stuff is way too sweet. With 1,000 people going, I figured I'll be able to very easily get rid of it. Of course, I might not end up bringing all four if it means less shoes.
  7. By "lots", she means FOUR gallons. :stupid:
  8. DCMM has kept Passport busy this week!!
  9. Can you bring the Stig?
  10. That's weird, but it's not on the site anymore. I'll just make a bunch. Why are you in Stock? Shouldn't you be in Tuner? I just noticed Mark's in Stock as well...
  11. Can everyone please let me know their numbers and what color you want? I'll be making them next week.
  12. Can everyone please make sure their RSVP's are up to date? With a group this large it is very important that we are able to give Griffin Tavern an accurate count. :motor::motor::motor::motor::motor:
  13. Welcome and congratulations on the MINI!! Passport MINI has a really good alignment machine and they're in Alexandria. The other shop a lot of us use is Mach V in Sterling, VA. Quite a few of us autocross with the BMW club. The next one is Saturday, April 21 at Bowie Baysox Stadium.
  14. The t-shirts have arrived!! I will be distributing them this Sunday at the Spring Fling. If you ordered one and are not attending the Spring Fling, I will have them with me at the Meet and Greet at Annapolis next Saturday and at the Autocross in the afternoon. If you will not be able to pick up your shirts at one of these events, please let me know so that we can make arrangements either to meet at another time or have them mailed to you. If you have already made shipping arrangements with me, I'll be contacting you soon.
  15. Hopefully we will not repeat the Great Poultry Run of 2011. :top:
  16. Get it from Passport. I think it's $6-7 quart. MINI Mania is one of the more expensive places for pretty much everything.
  17. I change Cricket's oil every 5,000 miles. When I still was under the maintenance warranty, I would pay for the two extra ones inbetween the 15,000 mile (or so) one. Just don't let them reset the indicator when you get the interim ones done.
  18. Was it a Coupe or a Pepper White S? If it was a Coupe, it was Rab. If it was a PW, it was JAB67.
  19. I was on 123 last night, near Mclean and I noticed a Sparkling Silver MINI going the opposite direction. It also had numbers (I still have my autocross numbers on) and they were they same as me!! So, does anyone know who drives a Sparkling Silver with a "56" on the door?
  20. That is a change this year, as well. There will be prizes for the winners, but a lot of the prizes will be available via raffle in order to raise more money for the Wildlife Rescue League.
  21. Since everyone is getting excited, I opened up the RSVPs! I need a few volunteers to help with the scoring at the end of the day. You can still participate in the hunt, you just can't score your own sheet. The more people we have to help (and computers) the faster it will go!
  22. We did the test run yesterday and discovered a lot of the roads have been repaved! Yay!!!
  23. You wouldn't be able to hear the MINIs!!
  24. Mark from Public House just confirmed, so we are all set. We'll be on the patio out back, near the bar. See everyone tomorrow!
  25. Yeah, I know I can push her a lot harder than I do. I'm not sure what I'm afraid of. I was happy with mine, too. My goal is to improve. As long as I get better every time, I'll be happy with that. :top: Oh, and maybe beat Haemish.
