What I like to do on Friday nights

Recommended Posts

Ya know what? I had a massive brain fart! Ewwwww!

I believe the technical term is: Suffering from an acute case of Cerebral Flatulence, lol.

And no worries. I just wasn't sure if there was an option I hadn't explored. I do almost exclusively bulb when I am doing long exposures, and just having the mirror locked up would be an advantage, especially when trying to capture lightning shots.

Yep, I love my remote release.

Have you ever used one of those fancy devices that trips the shutter for lightning strikes?

http://www.lightningtrigger.com/

There have been lots of opportunities for lightning photography over the past few weeks. If you think about making a "dedicated expedition to capture some of our afternoon/evening weather, I'd love to join in!

I too have seen 'em, but can't justify the price of 'em. .. I have found another make, that offers the same thing, but is sold for like $120, iirc. I have the page bookmarked at work, and will update tomorrow.

Post that link when you get it Jono.

The weather for Wednesday looks like there's going to be a strong front moving through. I think I'll try some lightning photography!

IIRC, it was basically this:

http://www.adorama.com/AEOLSIICN3.html?utm_term=Other&utm_medium=Shopping%20Site&utm_campaign=Other&utm_source=gbase

That is a budget price when compared to the almost $400 one offered on other sites.

they may have been discontinued(according to B&H)but can be found.

Here is a pretty comprehensive review:

Beautiful Photos. We are so blessed to live here. Sadly so few take the time to enjoy all that this region has to offer.

Since we seem to have a lot of photographers on here, I would like to welcome you all to join a meetup group I am a co-organizer of. It's called unexpected treasures. (http://www.unexpectedtreasures.com). We do various types of photography, and have monthly meetings/workshopts. This saturday I am hosting/leading an open photography trip at the MD RenFaire. I have done sunrise trips in Annapolis and have led a group up to PA to the wolf sanctuary. I specialize mostly in studio photography but I have just as much fun outside of it as well.

My work is at http://www.robertkruckphoto.com

Come check us out.

Was checking out some of your site too, your water lily reminded me of a water lily shot I forgot I had, one of my favorite flowers:

Wouldn't mind doing a shoot at the greenhouse up by the capitol building either. . . we just need a bunch of DCMM Photo gigs, sheesh.
