  1. Yeah, true enough. Haven't had any more battery drain warnings since I charged up the battery all the way. It's only been 2 days, though. I did notice that this thing is really sensitive to battery drain, though. Yesterday, I turned on the ignition and within maybe 30 seconds it was yelling at me about low battery, and that it was going to disconnect the battery soon. Not sure how anyone is supposed to work on their car with it being that sensitive.
  2. Haven't tested anything yet, but I did unplug a usb phone charger that has a power LED indicator. I also put the car on the charger. Charger indicated 56%. Charged it up to 100%. No battery drain warning, yet. Will drive it for a week or two and check the level again.
  3. So, new development with this issue. Due to a battery drain warning, I put the car on the charger. It was at 56%. So, I charged it up to 100%. Since then the blower has been working fine. Not sure if coincidence, as the weather has been warmer. Will keep an eye on it. I still need to check the headlights to see if they are working correctly, now. If this isn't coincidence, it's curious that the battery would need to be fully charged in order for the electronics to work correctly. Seems like the alternator should provide all the power needed. ...unless my alternator is going out. I should test it and see how many volts/amps it's pushing.
  4. Yeah, would just like to have an idea about what it could be because shops hate troubleshooting electrical issue. Btw, just found out that I can't turn off my headlights during the day. They turn off went I turn off the car, but if it's running, they're on. Not talking about DRL's, either.
  5. Holy cow, there's a lot of info in there. Lots of stuff to try!
  6. Yeah, as a computer guy, I'd say that's not impossible, though doesn't seem likely. Anyway, there aren't any devices left plugged. There is a USB charger that is left plugged into the lighter, but I can't see how that would have anything to do with the radio. Of course, now that I've mentioned it, I wonder if the lighter stays active even when it's off. It does have this little blue light that comes on when it's plugged in. I haven't noticed if it stays on or not. I'll check next time I go out there.
  7. Hello, another minor issue for me. On my 2012 R60, most days when I get in the car and start it up it gives me a warning that something is draining the battery. Ever seen this before? Kind of want to have some ideas before I take it into the shop, since this sort of thing can super hard to track down and the shop may not be very interested in spending that kind of time on extended warranty work.
  8. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has seen in the R60's where the heater blower will only increase power up to about half way. I found out as the temps got colder that, even though I can turn up the blower past 50%, no increase of air is felt coming out of the vents. This is on manual mode, not auto A/C. Also, may be related, a couple of times the blower motor would be on full blast at startup, even though the selector was turned down to 1. A simple click up to 2, solved it. Then it would be fine at 1 again. Only did it on start up. Thanks, in advance. Colby
  9. Would it be possible to start a sticky thread where people can post pics of the wheels they have on their Minis? One for the Cooper S/Coupe, and one for the Countryman/Clubman/Paceman, maybe? Just thinking about similar body styles.
  10. Yeah, I wish BT devices could sync to multiple phones. I'd love to run dual torque apps, one on either side of the tach, to get better screen real estate.
  11. Check updates above. ...but yeah, I want to know that, too!
  12. Hi, everyone. I am really thinking about doing some autocrossing in my R60, but it is excluded from SCCA rules in the Street category. That's all well and good, but there is more than one category, plus sub categories in the street division. I couldn't find any good info out on the webs about what exactly, if any, category I could drive in. I'm not really worried about competing as much as just getting out and having a blast thrashing around a parking lot. However, even events that are not SCCA can sometimes be insured only per SCCA rules, and therefore not allow excluded cars. So, I sent SEB an email asking about that. Here is what I sent, followed by their response. So, it seems we Countryman owners can drive, sufficing we comply with specified rules, and as long as it is not Street or one its sub-categories. How much modding it will take to achieve that, I haven't looked into, yet. Also, depending on who organizes the event, there is potential for wiggle room. I just thought this my be helpful to people that are wondering the same as I was. Updates: 12/14/2016 - Did some more research today. The interwebs (reference site below, and others that seems to agree) say that the overall height is 61.5" and the track width (average, per SCCA rules) is somewhere between 60" and 61.5". So, if I understand things correctly, just a little drop in height and/or slightly offset wheels should get me in the door. Granted, the rules say to measure, but if this is even close to what I can expect, then this makes me very happy! http://www.thecarconnection.com/…/mini_countryman_2012_awd-… Skimming the rules on STX (what the SCCA rep said would probably be most applicable), it looks like even stock cars can run, as long as the fit the ratio.
  13. They all seem to mount things high, or to the right. However, if the flexpod R can be reversed, there may be some potential there. Edit: Actually, on second look and finding some better pics, the flexpod A may do exactly what I'm looking for. I need a spot for oil pressure, anyway, since the Torque app doesn't appear to have the PID for it.
  14. Anyone happen to have a spare rear cover for the tachometer on the R60 I can use as a template? ...or a whole tach they may not be using for a while? I want to take a stab at a custom phone mount to put my Torque app'd phone to the left of the tach, viewing it through the steering wheel. I want the phone to partially over lap the bottom left corner of the tach, so that it (mostly) can be seen through the steering wheel. ...unless someone knows of a company that makes one already, but I haven't been able to find anything.
  15. Lame, it removed the spaces. (Supposed to be a poor ascii Terrance or Phillip)
  16. Hey, buddeh. ____ / ~ \ 0 0 | |______| ______ \_____/ So, you're just looking for a reputable shop that can print on vinyl and install?
  17. Oh! I like this! I may need to do this on my MCS4 (is that the right abbreviation?).
  18. Hey, Dan! Do you mean to put on yourself, or to create something custom to have a shop put on?
