Apparently there is a bingo supply store in Glen Burnie, MD.

I'm willing to help out, but I'm not 100% sure of my plans yet. If I'm there, I'll help!

I live not too far from there (Edgewater, MD)...so I could swing up when I check in on my tenant, which is literally next door (Brooklyn PArk, MD). Let me know if you need help with that part. I'm still sorting out the details on my going.

As much as I’d like to start out in Portland, it’s just not practical for us.  At this point, we’re planning to take the Auto Train down to FL and go all athe way to Keystone.  We’ll probable go down Monday night 7/9  in order to participate a little bit in MINIs Take Florida.

Sounds like something i'm trying to plan...with a few extra logistics to have someone watch our little ones (aka grandparents).

    I'll be there :)

Regretfully, I will not be there this year. We close on our new home just days before I would head down, from that the next week or so would all about moving in. Mixed feelings on this.

Anyways, if I were to front some money would someone attach some T-shirts to their registration order for me (I can PayPal/venmo, in addition to providing styles requested with sizes)? I also plan on ordering Club shirt to aid the minimum, even though I will not be there.

  4. Hi All,

So, I while back I was inquiring on R56 Seats into my R53. To not miss another opportunity for research, for which I am finding a lot of questions on, I'm also looking into F56 seats (shown below). Anyone willing to let me sit and measure their seats? Looking for both the Sportster/JCW and Regular seats. Either of these has better bolster support than the OEM R53 Seats.

Should only take about 30min so I can compare with potential space limitations. Hoping to have something settled well before MTTS, perhaps MOTD so I can give them a proper feel test. Ideally, closer to the Baltimore/Annapolis area...but I know most of us are in DC/Alexandria area, so that's cool too.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ross

My prior post regarding R56 seats.

  5. Hello Trackday Minions,

I wonder if anyone could help me find out more information on Lot 7. Is this track still in use or known when it was last used? I saw this a few months back as I was heading to a conference in downtown DC and just caught a glimpse of the curbing as I drove by, never notice it before.

I provided the link below as a reference. Typically this lot is known for as the destination for the Chill Cookoff festival and that parking lot for DC United games for RFK.

Shirt are in and will be at registration for pickup, also thank you everyone that has preregistered we are at nearly $1000.00!!! in preregistration donations. Also please remember Sunday we set our clocks back, if you forget you can help with setup when you arrive early.

How early do you need people there to help setup?

  7. Been doing some additional research on this, seems that the r56 seats sit a bit higher than the r53 seats... still weighing out the costs on this one; time for the car to be down, allocation of seats and money. I noticed there is a hole with seat swaps to the Fseries in the R53. Hasn't been done yet, at least in all my searching. Looking that the Bolsters in them is awesome and potential for a great write-up and confirmation of 'juice worth the squeeze'. They would need to have the heat pads in them of course.

Just hope I can find a set if someone is upgrading to something more extreme. I'll post something if I'm lucky.

  8. Not sure if anyone else is interested, but there is a 'trackcross' event happening at Dominion Raceway on the 23rd of Sept.

    Information here: http://events.dominionraceway.com/trackcross/

Guess this will be the first of a few events scheduled.

I'm personally not able to make it to many AutoX events and track days(daze) as I would like, but the timing and cost fit perfectly for me.

Just passing on the information. I believe they lowered the number of registrants...which means more runs. :motor:

  9. I've been on the fence about seats lately, particularly the possible R56S seats into the R53. I know down the road (not sure how long) I'll be looking to install reclining and heated bucket seats. The R56 seats do look better in my opinion. The process of swapping them over looks real easy, so labor isn't a big deal.

In the mean time, is there any real significance in change from the R53 to the R56 seats? I haven't been able to plant my bum in a pair, but was curious if the bolsters are more pronounced, as in holding you in laterally when taking corners better than the R53s?

Just throwing this out there to see if anyone has some input.

  10. Looks like I'll be in the market for rear pads and rotors for my R56.

I've been considering the JCW 4 Piston Sport Brake Brembo upgrade when it was time to do my brakes.

I'm wondering if any R53 owners would be interested in buying my R56 calipers? I understand the R56 calipers were the brakes used on the R53 for the JCW upgraded brakes. My car has 50k miles on a 2009 MCS.

    Price is negotiable.

    Any interest?

I'm interested, though not seeing a price list. We can talk over PM if you'd like.

  11. Posted this over at NAM, but figured it wouldn't hurt to post it here too:

So yeah, the police woke me up this morning to let me know that someone had broken into my car. They shattered the driver's side window and stole my GPS, which was worth less than it will cost to repair the window mad.gif.

From what I was told by my insurance co., the only place that can repair it is in Arlington and I have to wait until tomorrow. Does anyone know of a place that's open Sundays that would be able replace the window? I'm in Herndon, VA. Please help frown.gif

Now that you have some recommendations on the Glass shops, let me point out the other item. The GPS!

Mainly because my brother-in-law is a detective, there have been numerous crimes where only the GPS was taken...not much is thought of at that point. That is only part of the crime as these items tend to have your saved addresses/locations and those of loved ones stored in them. This was a common item reported in a string of robberies in his jurisdiction. Just a word of caution as you are focused on the window and not the cheap GPS.

    Just looking out!

  12. Date: July 29th

    Meeting time: TBA

    Wheels up time: Meet there

    Meeting place: New German Performance

1615 Perryman Rd, Aberdeen, MD 21001

    Description of event:

Some are familiar with the tuning events with Helix, in Philly, and Jan whether remote or he flies in. Here is an opportunity to have something a little closer to us, taken from FB post on R53 Addicts ('m working with organizer on this:

Hey guys I am trying to organize a tuning party via Jan from Revolution Mini Works July 28th, 29th, and possibly the 30th if we have enough vehicles. This is one of the few times Jan will be on THE EAST COAST doing CUSTOM dyno tunes for your vehicle. The shop I have chosen is New German Performance in Aberdeen Maryland, Zip Code 21001, well rated shop with a 2 wheel dyno at the right price. I need at least 3 more MINIs (total of 8) who can commit and pay Jan upfront (before he flies out) for the tune. I would like more, but I will take what I can get.

    Prices are as followed:

R53/52 - 450 dollars total, 350 to Jan and 100 to the shop assuming Jan can get your tune done in less than an hour (very likely) however if it takes longer every extra 30min is 65 dollars, so be prepared.

R55 and R56 (N14 motor only) is 600 dollars. 500 to Jan (the R56 is more difficult to tune) and 100 to the shop. Same applies as above for the time, if it takes more than an hour then it is 65 dollars every 30minutes.

He sells package deals for performance parts to further enhance your R53/R56 tune.

**Payment must be submitted by June 20th to respective parties**

For any comments, questions or concerns email [bold]zacharytalbo@hotmail.com[/bOLD] with "DYNO" in the subject line. Zach has also posted this in various MINI groups on Facebook if you want to PM him [Zachary Ta] . In order to make this event work we need reliable MINI owners. Also, if you need any performance parts shoot Jan a PM or email.

I'm curious if anyone on here would be interested would say so below. i know it's a short window to plan for...but why put off that tune you have been wanting to do
