  1. Wow, who'd a thought the question would turn into this Lol? I'll have to check out Jan's rate off the site, but I think I'd be down for a dyno tune
  2. Thanks for the info diablo. I guess my question is more along the lines of who should I talk to, to even get the process started. Ideally right now, the tune in a can option is probably going to work best like you suggested. But the problem is that I don't know which options work well, or don't work at all. I would have loved to go the accessport route, because I've had luck with them on a subaru before. Sucks that they were never put out there for the R53. If Jan at RMW is the guy to talk to then I'll do that, or maybe I can reach out to the folks at Ptuning and see what they think about it. Either way thanks for all the great advice!
  3. Anyone on here running a custom tune? There have been so many posts over time on NAM and MiniMania that I honestly have no idea where to start. With the Intake, Exhaust Mod, and Pulley, I was hoping to find a tune that would make everything a bit more efficient, but I just don't know where to look. Any advice?
  4. Well I can't find the all leather version of the 1st Gen JCW Wheel, so I think I'm just gonna make due with what I have for now. In the future though maybe I'll have a garage and the Alcantara wheel will make its way onto Mindi!
  5. For all you JCW owners out there; is the steering wheel that much better than the stock MCS one? I saw that WMW sells the JCW for a pretty reasonable price, but just curious if it feels much better in hand.:questionmark:
  6. I mean it might save a little weight, but I had it done because I wanted some more sound from my exhaust. The seat of the pants improvement is good, but otherwise its just a joy for my ears
  7. Just ordered my H Sport sway, JCW Struts and TSW Springs! Gonna be all kinds of prepared for MotD!! Damn I cannot wait!
  8. Yeah doesn't sound like just a tire issue :/ Best of luck figuring out what's up!
  9. I actually find myself following the old skool minis as far as I can when I see em. Such a cool piece of car history. Hope to have one myself in the next few years!
  10. I've spent all week waving at Mini's, and I get no love! lol
  11. That makes sense. Lucky for me I can buy them without from ECS and run the TSW's from wmw
  12. Checked with Way at WMW and his reccomendation was JCW Struts and TSW springs, so that's what it'll be! I know this has been a confusing post, but I really think coilovers are just too overkill for my purposes. Thanks for all the help gang!
  13. I had looked at it actually, but I couldn't find anyone who was running it that could give me an idea of how it responded to lowering springs. ECS sells the upgrade for a good price too, so it's definitely still on the table, as long as it takes a set of Swift or TSW springs nicely...
  14. After digging through NAM and just reading what's out there, I think I've narrowed it down to either the Megan Racing EZ Streets, or the BC Racing Coilovers. You all are right that it doesn't make sense to go struts and springs since I can get a good coilover setup for just a little more cash. The Megan setup is the more budget option, but still has the adjustable ride height and rebound adjustment I'm looking for. The BC would be the higher cost, but has more adjustment, and maybe a slight better fit and finish. I know both are made by the same parent company so the difference is more in adjustability in price. I won't be slamming, just want to go a wee bit lower, and I think these two will do the job for the money. I'll let you all know when the final order is put in!
  15. There is so much information out there pertaining to suspension! IT'S INSANE! I'm not some techno genius, so comparing all this discussion is a bit overwhelming. Just want a nice DD setup that gives me a little more agressive handling profile. Is that too much to ask lol? :banghead:
  16. $900 for all four isn't half bad... Have a model number handy? I work with a buddy of mine in Silver Spring to install everything, so it's always an adventure putting new toys on the old girl lol. The sway bar will definitely be first, just because I've heard such awesome things about what it does for our handling, and I want to make sure I've had plenty of time to break in the bushings before MoTD comes around. Thanks for all the advice!
  17. What did you pay for the h&R's? I'm looking to be under 1500 bucks for my entire suspension setup (springs, dampers, sway, control arms, front camber) so I don't have a ton of room for holy expensive coilovers unfortunately
  18. Hadn't considered coilovers based on cost. I'm not an autox guy (yet) and just want something to get rid of the 4x4 gap and tighten her up for some back road jaunts.
  19. From everything I've been reading the hd's won't really give me the drop I'm going for. I'm pretty sold on the yellows as long as it won't rattle my teeth out of my head. Plus I'll be going with either the swift or TSW springs. I'll definitely check with mark and see what he thinks. And Katelyn is the girlfriend Lol. I'm Cory
  20. So after doing a search, I can;t seem to find exactly what i am looking for in regards to shock choices. It's time for me to start researching replacement shocks so that I'm ready for spring time, and I was wondering what people in our area thought about the Koni Yellow's ride quality on the DC/MD/VA roads? I don't mind a stiff ride, but don't want it to be bone jarring at the end of the day. The floor is open!
  21. Smaller diameter and they would be the bees knees! 17 just looks over the top for my taste.
  22. Looking forward to my first ever MOTD! :top: :motor:
  23. Is this still for sale? Just getting in to the club forums so hopefully it's still around!
