The Capital Triumph Register is proud to announce that the 20th Annual Britain on the Green (BOG) will be held at historic Gunston Hall, the colonial home of patriot George Mason, on April 30, 2017. BOG, which welcomes all British cars and motorcycles. is now well-established as one of the premier all-British shows in the metropolitan DC area.
Mark your calendars now and plan to attend as we expect this year to be the best ever! In addition to hundreds of beautiful British vehicles on display, we'll have live music, a Food Truck Alley, a sponsor/vendor Midway for your automotive needs, activities for children, and tours of the Gunston Hall mansion and gardens for participants and spectators.
Participant's Choice honors will be awarded in 25 or more classes of British cars and motorcycles. There will also be a number of special awards including Best Resto-Mod, Best Survivor. Best Display, and of course, Best of Show. Finally, we will have a special 20th Anniversary Award and Hagerty Youth Judging.
So please plan on joining us on April 30th for the 20th Annual Britain on the Green. It is a great day to bring out your car, celebrate the arrival of spring, and kick off the British car show and driving season with friends, family, and fellow enthusiasts.
Online pre-registration is scheduled to open on February 15th. Remember, pre-registration speeds your entry, ensures your place on the show field, and determines classes and awards. In addition, pre-registrants receive the collectable 20th Anniversary show poster by famed artist Joseph Craig English. All for $25, a savings of $10 from Day-of registration.

That makes sense. And now that I think back to the event they did for the new Clubman, they had at least 3 of them onsite that night - one in the showroom and 2 available for test drives. Definitely can't take one for a spin at the auto show... They likely have different sets of vehicles for these events vs. those on the show circuit.

The DC Auto show opens this weekend. I wonder if they will take the new Countryman to the expo center after this event? I'll ask David Hellmuth when I give him our RSVP numbers.

I had a brief 'spirited' run with a white MCS, black stripes, MD tags (Sherm?) on 66W this morning. I took the exit and they beeped as they passed. A nice start to the day!

My 2012 R60 battery started going bad a few months ago. I ignored it for a while, jump started it a few times, almost missed the parade when it went dead after sitting for just an hour or so. Finally got a new battery that night. No more problems.

FYI - MINI of Sterling had a conflict with the date of our Meet and Greet this Saturday so we have to cancel it.

Post Holiday Party
Date: Saturday, January 7, 2017
Time: 6:00 p.m. - 10:00pm
Where: Carl and Faith's house at 5386 Summit Drive Fairfax VA 22030. They are located on the Centerville side of the Fairfax County Parkway. Summit is the first street light after the parkway if you are coming from Fairfax on Lee Hwy RT29. When you turn off Lee Hwy on to Summit Drive in about 100 yards the road splits left and right. Go down the Right leg. The house is the third driveway on the left. You will not see the house. The second and third driveways are side by side. If you see new houses close to the street on the left you went too far.

Parking: There is space for about 15 to 20 MINIS in the driveway. The overflow can park on the street. If you have it, bring a small flashlight due to some dark spots on the street.
Food: As is our tradition, this will be a Pot Luck event. Please post what you will be bringing so we can ensure there's a wide variety.
Beverages: We'll have a variety of non-alcoholic beverages available. If you prefer to partake of adult/intoxicating beverages, please BYOB and plan on having a DD.
Gift Exchange: For those interested in participating, there will be a White Elephant gift exchange. (Limit gifts to no more than $25.00.)

Rear side marker lights?

Has anyone replaced a bulb on the rear side markers of a second gen? The light is just behind the back tire on the black plastic wheel arch, and there's a covering on the inside of the wheel well that blocks access. Every how-to I've seen online is for first gens, where the arch and wheel well cover are attached with Philips head screws. Mine look like rivets with a small circular hole in the middle. Definitely not Philips. Are these rivets the plastic type that will pop out with force or is there another trick to it? I don't feel the need to pay for half an hour of labor at the dealership just to replace a bulb to pass inspection...
