  1. $900 for all four isn't half bad... Have a model number handy? I work with a buddy of mine in Silver Spring to install everything, so it's always an adventure putting new toys on the old girl lol. The sway bar will definitely be first, just because I've heard such awesome things about what it does for our handling, and I want to make sure I've had plenty of time to break in the bushings before MoTD comes around. Thanks for all the advice!

Link to coilovers for what I bought for my *Clubbie* is already in a post below.

  2. What did you pay for the h&R's? I'm looking to be under 1500 bucks for my entire suspension setup (springs, dampers, sway, control arms, front camber) so I don't have a ton of room for holy expensive coilovers unfortunately

$900 for the set of four. But your challenge and additional cost is going to be on installation. Contrary to their advertising my installer didn't know what they were doing (another story for another place time). However the sway bar might be your first upgrade, that was primary for my Clubman as recommended by other Clubbie owners. I had budgeted for both and didn't have all of the work done until a year after I'd bought my MINI.

  3. Hi all, first time post for me. I'm thinking of getting a little guy travel trailer (http://www.golittleguy.com) and have been looking at 3 different tow hitches: Mini Fini (http://www.minifini.com), Mini Do More (http://www.minidomore.com) and Curt (http://www.curtmfg.com).

I'm curious if anybody has any of these hitches? If so, any thoughts?

Reading on NAM, the Curt is a direct knockoff of the Mini Do More but substantially cheaper than the MDM.

The Mini Fini is the cadillac (or Goodwood) of the bunch but also seems the easiest to use.

I'm also looking for an installer in the area for whichever I choose to buy.

    Any thoughts?

I have the MINIDoMore which the Curt is a reverse-engineered copy of. The only negatives I've actually heard about the Curt is that a) it's a copy and b) the listed capacities are too high, but I haven't heard of a Curt failing within their specs.

I didn't care for the MINIFini as I already had a few tow hitch items from previous vehicles and I didn't want to have to get adaptors and what not.

BTW, I had a Clubman. I didn't look to see what type of MINI you have. If you search the forum there is a thread or two on this subject including those who have had a tow hitch installed.

  4. So now I'm in this class.

I caught a kicked up rock on I-95 yesterday that gave me a star burst (before.jpg) Safelite came out this afternoon to fix it. He wasn't successful (after.jpg) - now it has wings  The Safelite guy mentioned that when he'd told some of his co-workers that he had a MINI to do, they all groaned until he told them it was a repair, not a replace. He admitted that replacing one can be problematic.

PMOA says $800 - $400 is just for labor. GEICO says Safelite will do it for under $500 - which is my deductible, so no matter who does it I'm 100% out of pocket. And since the Safelite tech was already spooked at the idea of replacing the windshield, I'm not calling them regardless.
