  1. Thanks Dale I learned it all from you! :adore:
  2. It's easier if you can separate out your payments, but if you did roll them together, the club would issue us a check for the charity. Here's how the tie breaker works. As rally masters we have run the rally enough times and come up with the ideal miles for each leg. When you run the rally, chances are you will not run it as cleanly. You may come to a direction and realize you missed a clue. At which point, if you are really competitive and you know you have time, you would make a U-turn and look for that missed answer. Do that 6, 8, 10 times and your mileage is going to be really wonky. That's OK! We don't expect you to run the perfect mileage. Take a guess at the end of each leg on what you think the ideal mileage was. You could put in the mileage you have if you have run a pretty clean route. For example when Mark and I ran the rally that Dale organized, our actual mileage was like 15 miles over the rally route. At the end if there is a tie, we will look at the mileage and who ever is the closest without being under our set ideal mileage will win. Does that make sense?
  3. OK Everyone we rally this Sunday!!! Does your team have a name picked out??? Ya gotta name your team. Don't forget a clip board or something that you can use to lean your directions on to write, there are pens in the goodie bags. The starting location has a Starbucks so if you get there early enough you can get your morning coffee and if your MINI needs fuel there's a station across the street from the start. Gainesville has cheap gas too. When you get there the parking lot is always a bit more open off to the right where the Liberty Mutual is, so we're planning to start there. Just look for some MINIs. Mark and I will be there by 9:00 but registration doesn't start until 9:30. Looking forward to a great rally and if anyone has any questions about how this is played or anything else about the event please ask.
  4. Thanks Dale!!!
  5. Yes please What are you asking for rims and sensors?
  6. Great, then we are interested. He would just want the rims he had winter tires.
  7. Can you post a picture? My husband could use a spare set of rims for his winter tires, but they need to fit over the JCW brakes.
  8. Looking forward to seeing you Dale. Are any others from your group coming along?
  9. I've seen the same MINI on the way to work twice now in the last few weeks. It's a BRG S with bike racks and a license plate that says MINSANE He waves!!!! :wavey: I also noticed some custom exhaust pipes
  10. Sadly, they closed last Wed.
  11. Goodie bags are packed, all participants will get some waterproof sunscreen, a sunsense detection bracelet, a black cancer bracelet, pens, a magnetic black ribbon, some fun MINI swag (tattoos or trading cards) and literature all delivered in a nice reusable bag (you can use this thing for groceries)
  12. Fred is a great name, can't wait to meet him. I used to love that show back in the day.
  13. I just had a blast at Passport MINI. I was there to drop off flyers for the rally. Met two MINI owners who are coming to the rally and interested in joining the club. I gave them the whole club talk and they were excited about it. They didn't know we existed. Ali
  14. The owners at Public House #7 have signed up to be an official DCMM vendor. They are offering club members a 10% discount when they come in and show their membership badge. Public House #7 is an English pub in the 7 Corners area of Falls Church, VA For more details hit their website http://publichouseno7.com/  :eating: :eating: :eating:
  15. Oops, I just noticed you said maintenance. I always forget about those. My information is for repair. I just bought one and got the best deal through AAA. I called one place that I randomly found on Google and had a horrible experience, so bad I hung up on the guy. I also spoke to Passport who were coming in pretty high and I spoke to the guy at Atlanta MINI who was just a few hundred over AAA. All were offering 0% interest. I went with the 48k platinum coverage. I think it ran just under $4,000 but Tigger is an '06 with 60ish thousand miles. I have a $100 deductible, but if I go to an AAA certified shop it's only $50. Ali
  16. OUCH! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can come to another event soon. Check the calendar, we have a lot coming up Ali
  17. I just want to update people on the event and am hoping I get some of you excited to come and support a great cause!
  18. Mark and I just re-ran the route. It was fun and all my ground work was good, I had very few errors in the first draft of the directions, yippeee. We did discover that one of the roads we were using was totally destroyed in a construction project, so had to do some quick re-routing. Good thing we're quadruple checking our route. We want you to have fun, not get lost. We hit the twisty part of the route and flew through it behind a few motorcycles, some fun roads there, esp when you're not looking at the back of a mini van or an SUV. The route took us about 2 and a half hours and we stopped for a break, I would think you guys will take about 3 hours minimum to get through it. You have plenty of time to pace yourselves, take a break and get a snack, even back track if you miss something. This is a fundraiser and we really do need more participants. If anyone wants to invite their friends to drive in their car, please invite them along. At the end of the route we'll have some fun social time at the pub. Two weeks till we rally!!!!!
  19. He's right as I am replying from Howie the Mac, but I could have just as easily replied from my phone Sammy Samsung :wavey:
  20. We can help you name it if you want I hate to see an unnamed MINI
  21. That was a lot of fun! Thanks Craig for creating a fun run for us into Fredericksburg. It was great seeing everyone Ali
  22. Just did my 6 miles, going to shower then meet up with Quitta. We're riding together in Blur today.
