  1. Once you have a date and an idea of when you'll be settled in, we should have a welcome back dinner for you.
  2. You don't have to dress up for Clydes. Wash the MINI of course. I hope you can make it
  3. It's a really nice place
  4. I don't have weather techmatts. So I guess the cocomats can stay. Sometimes in the summer the cocomats have caught on my flip flop when I shift. It's kind of annoying, forced me to buy shorter driving flip flops, oh the horrors of going shoe shopping
  5. I have a Droid and use the Cravenspeed mount http://www.cravenspeed.com/smart-phone-mounts/ Right now I have the Samsung Charge and the universal mount. It works, but there is an issue because the grip points of the mount all hit buttons that I need on the phone. When I shift the phone so that the buttons don't get hit, it is imbalanced and flips. But they are good mounts and easy to install.
  6. Rich Why do you take out the coco mats? I'm curious since I have them. Ali
  7. Since we're now about 3 weeks away, I opened up the RSVPs for this event.
  8. In case anyone is curious, this is the restaurant we picked for lunch at the drive (the Franklin location) http://www.fatbuddiesribsandbbq.com/
  9. I like the Rain-X wipers too :top:
  10. Here's the link to the brunch details http://dcmetrominis.org/forum/topic/1608-november-club-brunch/ Ali
  11. It's a really pretty restaurant and area, I'm looking forward to it
  12. I'm so glad you rescued him from the lot and are going to treat him like a proper MINI. Welcome to the club. You're going to love that car. I have an '06 Cabrio and Tigger is my baby, I love him. We have a club brunch coming up in a few weeks, maybe you can make it. Ali
  13. That's a cool shot
  14. We will have to figure out the volunteer jobs needed. The event is listed as max 30 MINIs, but the staging area parking lot by Dry Falls doesn't have 30 spots. So we'll need people to help coordinate the moving of the MINIs to Bridal Veil Falls and back to Dry Falls. I would guess, that is where most of the work will be. Barry wanted us to finalize the details which meant basically picking the lunch place. He gave me 3 suggestions in the area, I picked the BBQ place.
  15. Why thank you!
  16. Actually you kinda are a weirdo but in a very good way
  17. YAY!!!!! We have an early MINIac!!! :congrats: I love the silver accent colors, it looks nice with the blue. I think the Coupe comes in Lightening Blue, I really like it. You're going to love your legend! If you come to the MINIs take the Beltway, I'm sure you can ride along with someone. If I was going to be there I'd let you ride with me in Tigger. We do have a brunch coming up in Nov, hopefully you can make it out to that. Ali
  18. I hope we were all helpful. What color are you ordering in? You'll find that the MINI handling is great for highway driving. You'll get the acceleration that you need to get out of tight spots and it can hang back and relax when you want to also. The car is so responsive that you get a real connection when driving. Personally, I think Tigger isn't just a car, he has a personality. A lot of cars on the road are just cars, they go where you point them. MINIs leap at the chance to go have fun as it rips you through the road. You're going to love it! Ali
  19. Another reason to love my MINI But turn that DSC off for Autocross :motor:
  20. Oh how you crack yourself up :egg:
  21. Also if you're a fan of Sirius, get it installed factory. It's very expensive to upgrade. Or you get stuck with that little adapter and there's no good place to put it. I will say DSC, once saved me from an accident when I over corrected my lane change on the beltway. It was like the car literally took over and put me straight in my lane. Love that feature. Ali
  22. Welcome to the wonderful world of MINIs, I doubt any MINIac will mind if they catch you admiring or taking pictures of their beloved car. I LOVE the coupe, it will be exciting to have one in the club to drool over. You might want to wax it well since we'll all be drooling over it. I would say keep the 17" wheels, they look better for one thing. I'll let the motor geeks tell you all the other reasons. You also may want to ask about the All season tires, if you don't, they'll come with summer performance run flats that will not handle in the snow at all. I learned that lesson the hard, slipping and sliding way. You want Xenon headlights because they are just that much better as far as being able to see at night. Another club member was telling me about getting a loaner that didn't have Xenon's and he really appreciated his xenon's when he got back in his own car. The sport suspension will probably depend on how you're planning to drive. You'll want a stiffer suspension if you think you're going to want to have some fun on the turns. I personally wouldn't want to live without my precious seat warmers either. There is a lot you can do after market, as far as aesthetics. So things like vinyl can come later after you have bonded and know your cars personality. Are you looking at the Lightening Blue? Welcome to the club Ali
  23. Hopefully you guys can make the brunch in November too
  24. I took some, I'll post once I get them onto Flkr Ali
  25. I have some great pictures of Fergus, Once I finish processing I'll put them up on Flikr and post the link. He was one sweet Pitt Bull, so affectionate and really a pretty coloring. It was a lot of fun. Ali
