How about t-shirts? I have a CafePress.com store and would be happy to try and come up with a simple design. I could either offer them at cost, or add a couple of bucks and donate the proceeds to the same charity.

Made it home around midnight last night safe and sound. We've spent most of the day working on the cars. Both CAIs are installed and seem to be functioning properly - my first major mechanical mod done on my own. The R53 was a pain, but the R55 was fairly simple and straightforward. Cindy finished painting her chrome and is working on my black-outs now. STDs installed on both cars along with a few cosmetic additions. Pictures to follow most likely when I get back to DC!

Can't wait to see you again. You are going to like this group. They remind me a lot of the Atlanta crew - nice people.

Welcome - I moved to the area from Atlanta last March (MINImum is my wife, still stuck in Atlanta for now). The potholes and road conditions up here are quite a shock. We are/were members of AtlantaMINIs. As a matter of fact, I am heading back there tomorrow morning and we may even go on the Poker Run to Brasstown Bald with the group this weekend. I am really looking forward to seeing the Classic. I know Foxtrot had one, but I don't remember seeing any others actually brought to any AtlantaMINIs events that I attended. And, you are right - Atlanta isn't N. Georgia unless you are from south of Macon....

I don't claim to be a Photoshop pro, but here is a rendering of what I hope Stanley looks like when I finish with the Plasti-Dip and eventually switch out to black-body headlights.

One of my favorite "useless" modifications - I don't know why they changed this on the R56....

I finally found time to clean Stanley up a bit and the weather this morning was beautiful, so I took him out for a few pictures. I've got more posted on my MONDO-MINI page and Facebook.

Is this a fundraiser for the club or for a charity? Doesn't matter either way, I'm just curious since I am new to the club.

I also hear (now that I bought one) that the Alta CAI for the R55/R56 is known to throw the Check Engine light. Anyone else had this happen? Is it something to worry about? I haven't received the CAI yet and won't be able to install it until I go home to Atlanta in a couple of weeks. Just thought I'd see if anyone had any experience or opinions.

No doubt. I didn't do much modding on either of my other two MINIs - mainly cosmetic stuff. I expect that to change with these....

Awesome! My wife is so excited to hear the difference it makes on her car. What other mods have you done to the Clubby?

Got the answer - the CAI for the R55 is the same for the R56 and no difference for A/T on the newer models.

I've searched and can't find an answer for this one. Can you recommend which CAI I should order for my wife's 08 Clubman S A/T? I can't tell if there is a difference for the Manual vs. Auto for the R55 and from the ALTA website it appears that the same intake works for the R55 and R56. Correct? ALTA has 20% off sale this weekend, so I'm grabbing a CAI for her car and mine.
