Blacking out the chrome trim - have a question

Recommended Posts

The headlight trim on the R53 is different than the R55/R56 - The entire headlight has to come off the R53. I didn't want to deal with it. Actually, taping off the headlights and grille weren't that bad, it was the beltline that was a pain.

That's right, I forgot about that. Can't wait to see it though!

It's actually a lot easier to get the rings off and paint them, than to mask.

I've done both (resprayed them when I did my joey mod). And it looks a lot cleaner the second time around.

It took me a while to figure out how to remove the headlights, but once you get that down, it's a much quicker process.

I want to black out the beltline this weekend. Any tips, tricks or warnings?

If anyone wants to help out they are more than welcome to join me and Blur.

I've got all of the supplies needed for the R56 Beltline blackout.

I'm not working Friday.
