1975_mini Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 Brandy won a set of “A” panel graphic graciously donated to the MTTB raffle by one of the club vendors “Itchy Pig” and they look great. I am considering installing them myself. The process seems pretty straight forward and simple; just preplan, prep, and take our time. I have done plenty of masking off and painting/plastidipping. So I feel I am capable, but does anyone have an experience with vinyl? I would love to pick your brain for personal ticks or what to watch out for. Thanks 1975 Mini 1000, 998cc A+ w/ K&N air filter, 10" Mamba wheels
TGGRRR (Ali) Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 Laura has done some vinyl work I think it's important to have the garage fairly warm so that you get a good adherence Can't wait to see it done Ali Tigger 2006 the cabrio and Riversong the 2014 Countryman
GreenCactus Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 You can definitely handle this one. Make sure the surface is very clean and free from any waxes. Ali is right, it will be easier if it's warmer, but it can be done in the cold. There are lots of instructions on line. I use the "wet application" method, as I think it's easier. If you're going to be at the Meet and Greet on Saturday, I can talk to you more about it.
