TGGRRR (Ali) Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 I like the first one because it shows what you're doing with the instrument surroundings too. They all look pretty cool, love the big S on the dash Tigger 2006 the cabrio and Riversong the 2014 Countryman
cmcveay Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 I can appreciate what you are considering but it's not something that I'd do. I do agree with Ali - the first design made it easier to picture since it included the layout of the dash. I would encourage you to consider wrapping it since it's removable. Paint can be removed too but it's expensive and far too easy to damage what's beneath. 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon "Homer" 2012 MB/CR JCW R55 "Merlin" Sold 2009 LB/LB R56 "Archie" Sold
TGGRRR (Ali) Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Craig is right You want to go with Vinyl, don't paint your dash. Of course you're hearing this from someone who glued a CF dash on top of the stock one Tigger 2006 the cabrio and Riversong the 2014 Countryman
Bert Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 This might take a little more time but you could wrap it and then paint the wrap. That way you could remove it. Just a thought. Ernie McStreet's facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/erniemcs.street
Scavenger Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 This might take a little more time but you could wrap it and then paint the wrap. That way you could remove it. Just a thought. That's not a bad idea, but before continuing, consider the cost of the wrap, the paint, the effort... then compare to the cost of replacement dash panels. It might not be worth the hassle. I to think it would be neat to paint the dash, it's like a blank canvas staring at us every day! 2006 MCS, SB/S , "B.A." Performance: DINAN "Stage 5" tune, throttle body, boost kit (fuel pump, pulley), & CAI; JCW exhaust sans resonator, brakes, & GP IC; DDM IC diverter; CSF Racing Aluminum Radiator Suspension: DINAN front strut brace; Alta 22mm rear bar; KW V1 coil-overs; H-Sport adjustable rear control arms; CravenSpeed strut underators Interior: CravenSpeed gauge mounts with Cooper S boost and voltage, & shift well cover Wheels: Enkei PF01 17" Audio: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X994 HU; MTX Terminator speakers F&B Alan @ opensource.com
Bert Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 True, do a cost comparison first, but if you are going to paint it that opens up the possibility of many different options (types of wraps and price points). Heck, you could even do it in canvas or burlap but I would recommend something with a backing to protect the original dash. Oh the possibilities!
