gtrnka
Has anyone had problems with their uppper windscreen seal? I had a new windscreen put on my R53 when I purchased it Jan 2010. The upper rubber seal comes loose in the middle when I am on the highway :motor:everyonce in a while. Any suggestions as to what I could do to fix it instead of going to an auto glass shop? Thanks!!! cmcveay
Duct tape? Staple Gun, Silicone? Plasti Dip? Electrical tape? Okay, that was mean but it made me laugh for a minute. Is it coming out on the inside or outside Greg? Does it come out enough to allow water or wind through? What kind of warranty was there on the work at the shop, I think I'd be heading over there to have them check their work. 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon "Homer" 2012 MB/CR JCW R55 "Merlin" Sold 2009 LB/LB R56 "Archie" Sold
GreenCactus
That used to happen to the MINIs at Zipcar. It needed to be fixed by the shop who did the windshield install.
Scavenger
I second this, if you just recently had that work done, you should have some warranty on the work, because it doesn't seem to have been done right. You shouldn't have to worry yourself to fix something a shop didn't get right. Good luck! That used to happen to the MINIs at Zipcar. It needed to be fixed by the shop who did the windshield install. 2006 MCS, SB/S , "B.A." Performance: DINAN "Stage 5" tune, throttle body, boost kit (fuel pump, pulley), & CAI; JCW exhaust sans resonator, brakes, & GP IC; DDM IC diverter; CSF Racing Aluminum Radiator Suspension: DINAN front strut brace; Alta 22mm rear bar; KW V1 coil-overs; H-Sport adjustable rear control arms; CravenSpeed strut underators Interior: CravenSpeed gauge mounts with Cooper S boost and voltage, & shift well cover Wheels: Enkei PF01 17" Audio: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X994 HU; MTX Terminator speakers F&B Alan @ opensource.com
gtrnka
Duct tape? Staple Gun, Silicone? Plasti Dip? Electrical tape? That was good!:rofl: It was installed over a year ago. Fairfax Honda had someone come in to install it. Sometimes when I drive I hear a flapping sound...I generally just slow down till I get somewhere I can stop and press the seal back in. There is a channel in the rubber that needs to slip over the top of the windscreen in order for it to stay put. I may just stop by an AutoGlass shop and have them look at it.:banghead: Thanks for the advice and humor....
