Late to the thread but did you get the pulley removed? Still need a tool?
-
Please, for the love of all that is MINI, SOMEONE save these CocoMats!!
-
If it was DB R53 then yup, that's my baby :top: She popped a spark plug (and the threads went with it) on the 6th and it's been an "adventure" since Can't wait to pick her back up tomorrow, Alberto's been spending a lot of time with her and it's time she came home
-
Dang it, I haven't even picked DB up yet and y'all already have me planning to return, lol
-
Thanks, just gotta figure out the logistics ;-) my boss messed up his arm so I've been covering down for him :-( I'll take a look at the calendar tomorrow to see what we can work out. Thx

Just noticed that mine was shot (while searching the engine bay for a "lost" spark plug :banghead:). PM sent :top:

Stripped Spark Plug Thread on Engine Head
Drillslinger replied to DBeest's topic in Maintenance & Modifications
Apparently we already had enough in another thread (http://dcmetrominis.org/forum/topic/2940-feeler-rmw-tuning-party/) but had problems getting it coordinated. Then Jan's Dad passed and I'm not sure if he's back to work yet or not. -

That's the beautiful thing about this stage 2, Chad assures me that even though the valves are bigger they're only slightly larger than std (+0.5mm Intake/+1.0mm Exhaust IIRC) so a tune is not necessary. Naturally, if we can get Jan over here in the Spring a tune would give me better gains but I shouldn't have any problems until then :motor: -

Well, we bit the bullet and ordered a MegaMini stage 2 head. Gonna have the OE one rebuilt and if it's in good condition will try to find someone who needs one. Thanks for the help/advice! -

Hmm, an email might be in order then. PTuning was going to send it to their machine shop but.. what was a rough cost for the P&P? -

Had the Brisk plugs in. She's an R53 with 80k miles. Hoping that the repair will take better by having machine shop do it with head off. Will try to get it ported/polished at same time. -
Stripped Spark Plug Thread on Engine Head

This happened to me Thursday morning :-( I know it wasn't lack of spinach as I torque mine to 20-22 ft lbs (I blame the cold winter (cold/heat cycles)). Taking her in to PTuning next week so they can send it out to a machine shop for a look/quote. Anyone have experience with repair vs replace? Chad's got me covered if I have to replace the head but... yikes! -
SO disappointed we missed this Pics so far look like y'all had a great time :top:

Ahh, got it. Thanks. I probably don't see it on my phone so I'll check today from a PC. Thanks again. -

Spoke with the Frau about this and it looks like we're in for the run but lunch may be pushing our luck with the kids and naps. Just gave to register (where? Facebook?) and there's a small matter of reinstalling some back seats ;-)
