  1. I am taking my car in on Wednesday for its first "check-up" - when i called to schedule the appointment, the SA told me that they would use my key to tell them what needed to be done. I will see if they can give me a run down of all the info it collects. I will report back! I will confirm if we need tinfoil hats for our cars or not I do know that when you use the key in the slot, it records all of the dashboard settings you set while using that key. If you have a second key and a second driver, and you are both extremely particular about how things are set up, you can have different settings! And yes, the battery is re-charged when you use it in the slot, so again if you have a second key, you need to use it every six months or so to keep that battery charged too.
  2. Tim and I were going to go see Jim Breuer for the 8pm show at the DC Improv this coming Saturday (Oct 27) and for a zillion and maybe one reasons we are not able to go now. Wondering if any one would be interested in buying them? The total cost of the 2 tickets is $61.00. Let me know if you are interested! Thanks
  3. Saw this GEM in the Fords Parking lot in Ashburn last night. Turns out the owner works at the same place I do and sits on the same floor! Small world! Tried to leave a DCMM card on the door, but the card slipped down the window and into the door! Will be doing an office drive by with a card instead! The MINI badge has a dragon on it!
  4. Thanks! This looks easy enough! I don't have the auto-up feature but hopefully this will work! Update: This worked - the window is back to normal! To ensure it was not the top, I also raised and lowered that. Thanks a million!
  5. Windows are the topic, so I'm hopefully in luck! I've had a window issue lately as well - but I didn't doze (this time! in this car...) off! For the past few days my drivers side window doesn't completely go back up after I close (I have a convertible) the door. I haven't done anything to damage the door, so I have a feeling it is electrical. Oddly enough (related or not) I can't get the side mirrors to fold in either. I haven't gone to the lengths of taking the door off yet, but it just started, so I figured I would ask first. Any ideas on what might be wrong - if it's a quick fix or should I let the dealership deal with it when I bring it in for its next check up (in about a month)? I just got the car in August and it has a 60K mile warranty. Thanks!
  6. What an amazing day! Started giggling the second we got on Ryan Road and Tim will confirm that I have not been able to remove the smile from my face since! What a GREAT day and a great introduction to the group! We took the trek UP the big hill to Bluemont Vineyard and WOW, the views were amazing (we could see all the way to Ashburn)! Well worth it, but I'm SURE the guys at the car wash were laughing at me being there two days in a row... Thanks Laura and everyone for such an awesome day!:congrats:

  8. The Cider Festival sealed the deal for me from the get go! Went a few years ago and it is a GREAT day! Do note that there WILL be lots of bees flying around (especially once the day warms up and the sun hits the barns). I have never been stung or bothered by the bees there - they just want the cider-goodness! The Bluemont Fair last weekend was fun! Its a mini-Waterford Festival (which is Oct 5-7 this year) if you have ever been to that. The drive out there was perfect and made me look forward to this weekend! Knowing the area - for the drive home - if you have to go up to Route 7 to get home and fear gravel roads, turn left from Foggy Bottom Road onto Snickersville Pike and go THROUGH Bluemont, turn Right onto Clayton Hall Road which will take you to 7 (go right to go East, left to go West). If you go on Yellow Schoolhouse it IS gravel most of the way, very pretty, but gravel all the same. See you Sunday!
