  1. Anyone seen or heard anything about tickets and t-shirts they ordered? I bought my ticket on 4/2 and haven't gotten anything electronic or postal since.
  2. I'll be there. Bringing my my mom down from CT for this and the British car event in MD the following day. Mom is my copilot!
  3. Once the weather clears up, Hannibal is getting new shoes. I'd like to upgrade to 18" wheels with a suggested tire size of 215/35-18. I did some back of the envelope math and it seems like they should fit without altering the suspension, as the total size of the new wheels plus lower profile tires appears to be relatively close. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject before I make the investment?
  4. Just got an ALTA CAI delivered. Will schedule a time to have it installed (want to protect the warranty) and take a couple follow-up photos. Excited to make my first modification!
  5. It's amazing how much technology BMW filters down into our cars. My mom has a 2003 330i and her car was the first I'd ever driven with adaptable windshield wipers and a tone to let you know snow was possible. Sure, my car is 8 years younger than hers, but the Bimmer was $46k new. I dunno about you guys, but I didn't pay almost 50 large for Hannibal and my car is faster and just as technologically advanced!
  6. Oh, man! That's terrible. I'll stop whining about my bent wheel now! Glad to hear you're okay.
  7. Thanks guys. There weren't any visible cracks when I checked out the bend pre-hammering. The tech told me they would have had to replace the wheel if they had seen any cracks due to liability issues. I'll keep one eye on the wheel and the other on last year's yet un-fixed frost heaves, the various assortment of un-level patches and the multitude of MINI swallowing potholes. It's like a minefield out here in the Midwest Snow Belt!
  8. So I've been out in Ohio for all of nine days (here through Election Day) and I bent a wheel. All of a sudden I was getting serious vibration through the steering wheel and in my butt above 65 mph. I honestly can't think of a single event that did it. Lovely frost ridden payment they have here in Greater Cleveland! It was a slight bend (about a quarter of an inch) on the inside of my right front. Classic MINI (oxymoron much?) of Cleveland pounded out the bend, rebalanced my wheels and rotated the bend wheel and the other front to the back. Hannibal glides straight and true once again, even up in the triple digits. As an aside, Classic's staff was quick, professional and friendly. If you need service and you're in the area, I was impressed. I wanted to ask if anyone had any long-term experience with with a bent wheel (I believe mine are OEM model number 104, to be exact)? According to the MINI catalog, it would be $273.03 to replace the wheel should the bend reappear. Any thoughts on whether it will hold or should I start budgeting for some new, aftermarket wheels for my little guy? Thanks in advance, and I hope all is well with everyone in DC!
  9. Man, those are two good lookin' MINIs! Possibly the best looking in DCMM (no bias here or anything)! Thanks for taking/sharing the pics. Very cool to see just how similar they actually look parked next to each other.
  10. Great meeting everyone who was there. Thanks for the membership package, Laura. My DCMM cling is already up in my driver's side rear window. Coop also built me a pretty darn cool signature. DCMM, Hannibal, America. What's not to love!?
  11. And a very helpful reply it was. I'll probably go with a fuel cap cover as a birthday present to myself. Will definitely namedrop you (so you can get some referral credit) when I pull the trigger. Thanks again!
  12. Has anyone done business with CarbonMINI (http://www.carbonmini.com/)? I'm thinking about getting one of their CARBONPRO fuel cap overlays, but I wanted to see if anyone had done business with them previously. Specifically, I'm curious about quality, ease of installation and how well their products have held up. (Sorry chrome fans!) As an aside, they claim to offer a 5% rebate for current members of recognized MINI clubs. I don't know you guys well enough yet to know if this place counts as "valid." Kidding...
