I have a set of OEM black six star twin spoke 16" that I'm looking to get rid of, as well. They're in really good shape, but the tires are pretty much shot.
-
The factory warranty covers the clutch. They replaced one is Merlin at about 20k.
I'm pretty sure this is the maintenance warranty, not the powertrain. The clutch is considered a consumable, so I believe it is highly unlikely that a extended warranty would cover it. I do know that it's covered under my extended maintenance, though.

I recommend PTuning as well. They work on everything and everyone there is really nice.
I second this... just had them install my coilovers not too far back, and I was very pleased with the price and the service. :top:

hahaha, dude I'm in the SAME exact boat. I'm tempted to just go the lowering spring route to save some dough to put towards lights...but I know I won't be satisfied and end up upgrading to coilovers later. Argh! decisions decisions lol
Buy nice or buy twice!

ahhh I see, I didn't know that...thanks for the heads up!
No problem... I found this after doing a quick search for retrofit kits which might prove useful.
I'm somewhat torn now... I want this kit, and I also want to upgrade my suspension... what to do, what to do???

Mark (my husband) just did some sort of tune that sits on top of the ecu. He said it was pretty easy to install and it's easy to turn on or off. Do I know details like what it's called???
You'll have to ask Mark or Craig. I can't remember details. Mark does want to dyno Max and see if this thing is really adding hp. He said with winter tires on it's much harder to tell but there does seem to be an improvement
I wonder if this is the same thing I have? I'm somewhat interested in dynoing as well just to see where things stand, but I definitely feel a difference. Taking it off when the car goes to the dealership just makes me sad. Does Max have an N18 engine?
As for the xenons, I'm not talking a tune per se, but rather the coding that needs to be done to make all the switches play nice... it's also the main reason aftermarket xenon kits are so problematic.

ohhhh snip snap...Way's got these stocked now (at least it's new to me...and I peruse his site very often...don't think I would've missed this): http://www.waymotorworks.com/xenon-headlight-retrofit-kit-r55-r56-r57-r58-r59.html
Plug and play? For 900 bucks? C'monnn tax return!
I am so glad you posted this.... I might have to get these! Looks like installation might be a challenge, then getting the ECU programmed for 'em, but I'm really glad this is an option now!

Sonja is going in for a visit this weekend...

My new wheels arrived yesterday, so that means that I now have 4 black OEM 6-Star Twin Spoke Alloy Wheels to sell. All of the wheels are in great shape and have TPMS sensors. Currently they have the original run-flats on them, but they're approaching 20k miles and one tire has a puncture that was repaired, so I would recommend fitting new tires.
A great set of wheels for those new winter tires that you were thinking of getting!
Asking $400 for the set.

Got a wave from another chili red *roadster* with checkered mirror caps today.
Even better, this was in Poolesville!
this never happens...

I had the top down for the first time today. My Roadster is one mean motoring machine if I say so myself. John Bull certainly gets a lot of looks (Lord knows they're not looking at me). :motor:
 Excellent! congrats!

Are they available at auto stores or special order only?
The one I have is from http://www.usmillworks.com and I am very pleased with it.

Anyone familiar with Florida law or after-market plate holders like I described?
I've got one on Sonja.... I definitely like the look better than the drilled center mounts.

What do we have, 3 or 4 Michaels with Roadsters? It must be a secret club.
The first rule of Michael Roadster club is.... Put The Top Down!!!

My '14 MCS Roadster arrived at the Baltimore VDC 18 hours ago. VDC estimates call for delivery on Monday, but my MA (MINI of Sterling) says it may be Saturday. Anyone care to guess the delivery date based on their experience?
I had mine within a day....
the weather has been awesome; I hope she arrives soon!!!!

Update!
My Roadster S began production today: September 4th at 7:55 BST! I have a VIN! Hopefully, it will board ship in England early next week for the voyage to Baltimore.
and now the excruciating portion of the wait begins...
We might need to have a roadster rally one of these days!!!

Nearly every day at 6:55 a.m. on my walk from L'Enfant across the National Mall toward Pennsylvania Avenue, I see a black Roadster driven by a woman in a floppy straw hat coming the opposite direction on 7th. Anyone? Anyone? I also occasionally see a copper Roadster going the same direction as me on 7th. Anyone?
geez.... you've seen many more roadsters in the wild than I have, and I've had mine for over a year!
Anyway, welcome to the club! Roadsters are a blast!!!

DEA headquarters is in pentagon city
Could very well have been me, then... I've been tooling around the area regularly...:motor:
-
Does Rigsby ever make it to the DEA building in VA? I saw a red R59 a few weeks ago near work and I thought it was cool to finally see one that wasn't parked at a BWM/MINI dealer.
ah, the question is, where is work? I have no idea where the DEA building is...

You're welcome to come by. I have a random orbital buffer and plenty of supplies
a lot depends on the other errands I have to run that day... and you're in that evil NoVa place...
-
If anyone is off on Friday, I'll be detailing Tigger. Feel free to come by and detail your MINI too
hmmmm... I'm not working on Friday, and a decent was was on the agenda...

Anyone with knowlege of taking apart the dash want to give me a hand on Saturday? I want to run my iphone cord so that it's out of the way, but the directions that I've found have not been helpful. From what I've heard, it's a pretty simple procedure, but I suspect it's only simple if you know what you're doing. :top:
